Both lotteries have more than 80,089,128 possible combinations. Powerball has 120,526,770 possible combinations. Mega Millions has 135,145,920 possible combinations.

Each of the jackpots won in Powerball or Mega Millions this year were won by a single ticket. No matter how high the jackpots get, the odds always favor a single winner unless at least 250 million tickets were sold or something.

yes it does seem odd to me that only one person could have the right numbers. Out of all the tickets sold I wonder how many did have the same numbers. You know the computers could spit out anything you wanted to know about the numbers like which combinations weren't picked and which were only sold once. Maybe it's part of the vast right wing conspiracy....let's ask Hillary

Well the dog days of summer have really kicked in around here and that compounded by the failure to win the MM jackpot has combined to make the last two days very long indeed. Looking back I wish I had picked that 10 low and maybe that could have been me sitting on the winning ticket drinking from a pitcher of fresh made Kool Aid this weekend.
