JAG331, I agree but you play what you got instead of looking at the other States and complaining. All lotteries are designed with the same purpose in mind even if they are just a little different. If they are being played and making money for the States then they are successful.

JAG: Keep in mind that the 1 in 22M odds for NY Lotto is only BECAUSE you get 2 tix for $1. The game is actually 1 in 45M for one ticket.

RJOh, hmmm, I was just taking a look at Ohio's SuperLotto. The odds are 1 in 14m, compared to 1 in 22.5m for NY Lotto, but the Match 5 and Bonus Ball payout is a flat $10k...NY Lotto's 2nd prize usually runs from $50-200k depending on # of winners/rollovers. Plus, $1 buys you only one pick in OH....it gets you two in NY. You do have the bonus ball on Match 4 and Match 3, grrr. CO,Ohio gives you a free Quick Pick with annuity if you match 3, New York gives you a dollar that you can spend any way you want. They both are worth the same, but I would prefer the dollar. A $25M jackpot is the same whether it comes from 40% or 50% of the sales.RJOh

Todd:True, people play NY 6/59 because of the jackpot, but have they ever tried to compare the lower-tier prizes with other states' games

JAG331,OhioSuperLottoPlus is played similar to New York's 6/59 game and its jackpot is higher than MegaMillions also. You can only play six numbers so the bonus is just an alternate if you don't match the prime 6, but it count down to a match 3. I post my picks here and sometime on the prediction board. I track the bonus numbers because it's the same file I used to check the numbers I play for winners. Ohio649+ jackpot is $17M tonight so I opt to play it rather than MegaMillions last night. I... Just post the six numbers. The bonus number is really pretty useless unless you hit 5 of 6.NY Lotto is bashed on by a few members here who are unhappy about the fact that only 40% of the revenue is allocated to prizes. Heh, the time has come to tackle NY Lotto 6/59 since the jackpot is higher than MM and PB, plus the odds are much better. I'm hoping someone else out there gives it a shot once in a while even though it can be frustrating. Two main thoughts:1.
