As for playing Mega/Powerball/or just plain ole Lotto South.. I would choose Lotto South over the other two. Although, Lotto South never gets as large as the other two.. your chances of winning all numbers is a lot better.Suppose you get all 6 numbers right... Well with Lotto South.. you got the jackpot no doubt.. How ever, with Mega/Powerball .. your Powerball # or Mega Ball # has to be in the exact spot or you win little. I would take a jackpot from either lotto. Who cares what the odds are to win? it all LUCK any way! To tell the truth, I would play them both if available. Instead of a $1, I would be playing $2. That's simple math from a simple person. No crunching numbers- simply give me a quick pick. Really, playing the lotto is a simple man's game. That's why it is so popular. No brains needed- period

The two games have the same 50% payback. Four of the Powerball states do not allow 18-year-olds to buy tickets, while Mega Millions members NY and TX require the cash/annuity choice to be made when you play. Of course, only TX has the Megaplier.

I play both Powerball (I live in Iowa) and Mega Millions (I live just across the Mississippi from Illinois), whichever one has the higher jackpot (I don't play both simultaneously).

i play both,powerball here in tn,we drive to georgia to get the mega millions. i like powerball better because it has the multiplier,and you can play multidraws if you want for longer times(up to 26 draws,i think) megamillions is only for 10 draws ,i think. mega millions does get higher,but powerball is just more fun for some,i like both. but i would choose powerball(formerly lotto america). i came close to winning the jackpot in lotto america,i had 4 numbers and was only a digit or two off on t... mega millions pays out $175K for matching 5 out of 52 balls (used to be $150K for 5 of 50), while powerball only pays out $100K for matching 5 of 53 balls. Mega millions pays out better for most prizes while the odds are better than those with powerball (5WB, 4WB, 2WB+MB).

mega millions seems to give a better payout and even my friend says that it seems easier to win with MM; however, lately, I have been just writing down some PB numbers for each drawing and I am getting like 4 out of 6 whereas when I write down numbers for MM I don't get as many numbers correct.

I play both games but powerball is in my state and mega millions is online for me. So when I win I hope it is the biggest jackpot so I have enough money were it will not matter.

The only reason Powerball rollovers were bigger was that Texas was not selling well yet. Then MM had a big run-up, and Texas caught on. If you recall, MM was hit a number of time in a row also (followed by the expected cries for changing the game).

Mega Millions is the one I like better. What difference does it make if the odds are 1 in 100 mill or 1 in 135 mill ? MM has bigger jackpots hence more excitement

Oh, I forgot to add in my original post that while Georiga had Powerball the Powerball officials said that more money was spent on Powerball tickets were bought in Georgia than in any other State that had Powerball.

Which is your favorite and which is your least favorite and why? I not only say that Powerball is better and I hate Mega Millions with a passion.
