but i know how those terminals work. they say if it is a winner, and how much you won on the display after scanning the TSN of the ticket.

i had it happen too in WV. i had a $2 winning cash 25 ticket, and the retailer said it wasn't a winner.

It's funny you should mention this. I am in charge of a pool that plays Mega Millions in Maryland and Powerball in Pennsylvania. 2 of us always independently check the tickets and compare notes afterwards. With the Mega Millions tickets we have never been wrong in calculating our winnings. But with Powerball, when I go to cash the tickets I seem to get unpredictable results. interesting.Sometimes with the PA tix, if the machine won't read them right, the clerk could type in the ticket number (I had to have that done for a match6 $2 winner because the barcodes printed crooked).BTW, Howdy Neighbor (I'm from Schuylkill Haven

Caution to the wise. This applies to all lottery players across the USA.I collect my Pennsylvania Cash 5 tickets for a month or two then have them checked at my local lottery retailer. I new I had a 3 out-of-5 winner in my collection of tickets. During the scanning at the retailer, I had only a few $1 winners. We doubled checked and did find the ticket with the 3 out-of-5, but it was rejected as a winning ticket. The lottery results were double checked in the store and on the PA lottery web... [ More ]
