the same is true with PA and OH. form what i hear, in PA, top prizes will have the letters spelling out the word claim or an abbreviation of the word in the parenthesis.

the three letter code is useless strictly because unless you know what the code is, you won't know if you won without scratching off the ticket,and even then you can't be completely sure. the parenthesis system works best.

there are a few scratch-off games in ohio that i think are rigged so there are no winners, and the game is addicting. the hold 'em poker game is very addicting, but there are barely any winners. i have never won anything on that game, not even the cost of the ticket back. there was one hand in partcular. the prize was $5.00. i had four of a kind. the dealer happened to have a straight flush. what makes me really mad is it has happened other times. even a $2 prize seems impossible to win... Scratch tickets are good. But just like coin slots, are random, and compulsive. Not to worry, I like both of them, but remember to play sensibly. Mathemattically, Instant games do pay better as pre-mentioned compared to draw games, and have better hit rates (1 in 4) compared to on-line draws (best is 1 in 6, but at least 1 in 10, even 1 in 36).On the other hand, haven't been havening much luck with either.

everybody say scratch have so many winners but dont forget they have alot of losers as well...a game may have 60,000 prizes but have 7-8 millon scarch offs..so yes 60k win but millons lose.BTW played last week won 2.00, spent 4.00

Exactly scratch off games always exceed online games in payback %. Imagine if your state lotto paid 70% or so on the online games. Its all about marginal utility and such. When will the states realize that if they offer a fair online game ( payback of 70% or so) they will blow all sales records away. Morons.

the problem isn''t so much scratch-offs as it is the people who play scratch-offs. i've seen some poeple who will play several consecutive tickets of the same game, and they won't win a thing, and if someone tries to plat the game they were playing, they will stop them. they are what makes compulsive gamblers, not the numbers games.

scratch offs are way worse then regular lottery..atleast with the regular lottery you know that everything is random.. well its analog anyways.while with the scratch offs, there is alot of mathematics invovled, to set the chances of winning, as well as to make sure a certain amount of profits are made..Before you buy that ticket, it was printed long ago if it is a winning ticket or a losing ticket, but with my 6/49, i know that this ticket has not been rigged to win or lose untill that sh*t nigh...
