i'd take the annuity no matter what the circumstances are. that way, if i screw up with an investment, i get a second chance the next year. if i do not live to recieve all the payments, then i am doing my estate good by passing the payments on to them. i feel i can't go wrong with the annuity. CASHOnly: i can understand why you are in favor of the cash option, and i respect your opinion, but it seems to me that you are making a big deal over a small issue.

there are pros and cons to this.the only reason i'd take the cash would be that if i knew i wouldn't be around long enough to get all the payments.on the same token if i blew money really bad i'd take annuity,i might go broke this year but i got next next year to look forward to.....

you can think of them as 20, 25, or 30 seperate cash payments. you're getting each payment in cash.

also, you can go contact someone outside the lottery, and they will arrange it so you get your money up front. it seems like you are making a big deal over nothing. and who knows? maybe the new megabucks will have a cash option. you never know.

dude. remember when you didn't have the cash option? seriously. mass pays out somewhere in the 70% range to the players, and they are going to offer a game with an all cash jackpot, plus they have mass cash. also, NY offers the cash option on their online games. in fact, it's the dewfault on lotto and mega milions. also, the option to play those annuity scratch games is completely up to you.
