I agree with tg, only play the lottery when the odds are theoretically worth the associated payouts. No one on this board should waste their time when its not two million and then pound it when it is a winfall.

i think Ca$h Winfall should be done away with. if anything, MA should learn from this past winfall that they are not selling enough tickets, and the big factor is the $2 price.

i see ca$h winfall to be a harder, more expensive version of FL's mega money. think about it. 2 draws a week, jackpot starts at $500,000, and rolls down at $2 million.

That's the state's estimate, but I have my doubts - it would take an increase from Monday's jackpot of almost $262K to push the pot into rolldown range and they haven't come close to that in any drawing yet (the closest was $207K betwen the 3rd and 4th drawings - I'm still not sure if the potential of a roll down can draw money into this particular draw).

I think the $2 cost is more of a barrier than the lottery might have thought. Another interesting thing is that with a $2 ticket, the lottery has priced themselves out of season ticket sales, so they won't get that revenue that might increase jackpots faster.

I like the idea of the roll down feature (other than the fact that it doesn't extend to the 2 of 6 level - still only a single free ticket for a 2 catch). The problem is that sales appear to be slow so far and that it's taking forever to get there (after 9 drawings through 10/11 the jackpot is still only $1,738,488 - I earlier thought there was a chance of a roll down on Thursday but now it appears that it will likely not be until next Monday {assuming nobody hits the pot outright}).At the curre... I dislike the $2 cost enough so that I haven't played it myself. The rolldown feature is the only interesting thing about it as far as I can see, and it seems to be worth playing only on a rolldown drawing day.The fact is that no MA jackpot game can compete with MegaMillions or Powerball for jackpots.
