i think within the next few years, NC, AK, HI,NV and OK will get loteries. i think that the other states will not get lotteries anytime soon due to religious reasons that the citizens have against lotteries. unfortunately, church and state go hand-in-hand sometimes.

I hope North Carolina is next. I'm tired of traveling to VA to play Mega and pick 4 5. Like Gemini said, our Governor is trying real hard but a lot of politicians are against it. I've even written the governor about pushing for a lottery. I think more lottery players need to voice their opinions more loudly for a lottery in NC.

I'm hoping NORTH CAROLINA will be next. The governor is really trying hard to get it pushed thru. I live here in NC and travel to VIRIGINA to play. I would rather keep my money here in my state to help my state out. But alot of these so call goodie too shoes are against it. I really feel that the real reason is that it is problemly alot of embezzament going in in our goverment here and the lottery would uncover it.

There are currently only 10 states that don't have lotteries: Alabama, Alaska, Arkansas, Hawaii, Mississippi, Nevada, North Carolina, Oklahoma, Utah, and Wyoming.

it probably won't.i could see alaska and hawaii starting lotteries in the near future, except i could see the MUSL and the big game group allowing those states to carry both powerball and mega millions, since there are pretty much no border states.
