If it's truly random, a certain number should not pop up anymore under their computerized system than it would with the traditional ball system.

i agree with you 100 percent once a certain number pops up a lot then they will try to tell the computer to pick something else which is why they should just stick with the dang ping pong balls in the first place to avoid all this from happening................

If they do go to tha RNG then i could see the jackpots getting much higher than they get now if they still have the same amount of players.I'm still stickin with my orig post......cause I don't think that I can believe that a RNG is going to actually be random. What if the RNG pulls 21 for the powerball number 3x's in a row.....then someone is going to go into this RNG and tell it that 21 can't be pulled for the next drawing......HELLO!!! then its not random anymore......right... Its all about the money. The first scandal that hits where the numbers aren't really random at all that hits will kill sales, then there will be a reaction. Until then Congress won't think its a problem because there will only be a small dip in sales.

I email My local Lottery head quaters and I asked them why our local games are computerized and they send me an email back Saying that Poweball will be Computerized soon.I was so shocked about that, I dont even know if I want to still play powerball when that happends

I don't want to see them go to computerized drawings, but I don't think it will make that much difference in sales. The bulk of the players are just chasing the dreams of being a millionaire. I don't believe the average player gets into the nuts and bolts of how the numbers are drawn.

according to mathmatical laws of probability............of 666 being called on xmas day..............in texasand 911 being called in ny state on 911id say its all computerized anyhow from the jump.most people win basing their picks on patterns, not realizing the pattern is pre-prescribed , though they realize its a pattern, they dont understand or refuse to believe thissimply look at the first draw dates for each game in texasthen look at the numers which were drawn

I find it ironic that they want to save 100 grand in costs per year by destroying the game in the eyes of players that make up the bulk of the low jackpot games. They also aren't making the game different to make larger pots just screwing it instead. Either the people at musl are stupid or they are waiting to get better jobs somewhere else.

ryanm,Dumb question: What's the difference between a random number generator, a pseudo-random number generator, and a true random number generator? I'm not sure I understand all the fuss about RNGs. Anybody with a pocket calculator and a little imagination can come up with random numbers. A table of random numbers also works pretty well. Those are the things I use and they've always worked fine for me.aye

I haven't been able to keep up with the lottery news lately but it may happen very soon to Powerball if they haven't shot it down already. Powerball was considering going computerized before the end of year. I got that info straight from the MO lottery office when I wrote them a letter about MO going computerized earlier this year. i doubt it. the main reason why lotteries use RNGs for drawings is because they cannot afford to hold and televise live drawings. the MUSL and the big game group will always have enough money to hold a live drawing.
