A lot of things influnce my decision to play the powerball for any drawing. One of them is if the powerplay is going to be a x5.Others of cause is how high the jackpot is, The predictablity of the numbers ie missing numbers.It is incoprated in my technique to increase my odds.

It makes real sense to me if you can win on a consistent basis. Here's the theoretical average for the PowerPlay Option: 2 20% 3 20% 4 20% 5 40%The weighted average is 3.8Ok, so you put down $2 per ticket for the option, spending twice as much as you normally would. I have personally wrestled with the Powerplay question for over a year. At first, I couldn't bear to pay twice the amount I was used to paying for a ticket. But everything changed early this year when a young woman across town from where I live played one Powerball number set for five advance draws with Powerplay. i used to play it because the fact that you can multiply any winnings by up to 5, and the fact that you can win up to $400,000 more, but i stopped because of 2 things.1. they pick the power play number before they draw the winning numbers.2. i wasn't winning too often.

Has anyone done an objective analysis of the Power Play option for the PowerBall game? I never purchase it simply because my gut instincts tell me that it's not a good deal. Some rather superficial number crunching indicates to me that the PowerPlay option gives players a chance to win a little more by spending a lot more in the long run. I do know people who exercise the Power Play option faithfully, but I just can't see how it's to the players' advantage. Does anyone have a definitive answer a... [ More ]
