Rowling 'heartbroken,' 'euphoric' at 'Potter's' end
NEW YORK (AP) -- How does J.K. Rowling feel now that she has finished the seventh and final Harry Potter book? As the author herself confided Tuesday on her Web site, Charles Dickens put it better than I ever could : It would concern the reader little, perhaps, to know how sorrowfully the pen is laid down at the close of a two-years' imaginative task; or how an Author feels as if he were dismissing some portion of himself into the shadowy world, when a...

Early Voting - No More Excuses
Most people already know this but, in case you don't, you might be able to vote next week in your local community. I'm not talking about absentee voting. To get the hours I just Googled the words early voting Florida and got a link to my county web site which listed the locations and the hours. Starting Monday Oct 23 - Saturday Nov 4, people in Lee County can vote any day, except Sunday, until 6:00, Saturday until 5:00. I'll have to go on Saturday.&nb...

DVD vs. HD-DVD
This is a follow-on the a forum post located here: https://www.lotterypost.com/thread/142461.htm I located a web site that has photographs somebody took of his screen, which shows the difference between standard DVD movies and the new HD-DVD format. Note, HD-DVD is not the same thing as Blu-Ray, which is actually a competing high definition format. The average Circuit City sales...

New Web Site
Just established a new web site. Most of the dynamic pages I have on the old site will be transferred to the new site, including almost all of the pages in the /math/ folder on the old site. This will include the lottery and Keno pages. The domain name has yet to be established. When it is, I'll publish it here....

Is it just me?
I am personally getting increasingly annoyed by the posting of one-line nonsensical posts by people who don't add anything at all to a discussion. I am tired of putting together a thoughtful message, posting it on a thread, only to come back later in the day and find a few one-liners posted by a couple of people who didn't really have anything of substance to say. Sprinkled in between all those meaningless posts are some gems posted by people who cared enough to ac...
