a question concerning computerized draws
Sorry JackpotPlayer,
But slots are not random either. (If you are talking about the modern ones) My buddy owns a couple of them. You go into the system and set the computer to whatever you wish for payout? 30%, 40%, 90%, 10%...The only thing random about slots is who is sitting there when the machine has pulled in enough money to pay out it's 30%. Then it goes to collecting again. If it was random there would be a on/off switch only. Not the 3 menu screens that have to be set up before you pu

Slot Secret
Video poker slots are the best slot machine going because there is a human element (you) who can choose what cards to replace.
I made plans with a friend to go to the casino. I had two weeks to prepare for it so I learned about video poker and practiced it heavily for those two weeks.
Within 15 minutes of arriving I hit a royal flush for $1000. The key was learning the nuances of the game and practicing. Video poker is a different animal from regular poker so you have to adjust to it.

Texas lottery legislation seeks to ensure state's share of revenue
Texas State Sen. Jane Nelson, one of the Legislature's most vocal gambling opponents, has sidetracked a measure to extend the life of the Texas Lottery Commission by tucking in a provision saying that the state must receive at least a 25-cent cut of every dollar wagered in every game.Nelson's amendment to Senate Bill 405, if it survives the legislative gristmill, could doom the already-struggling effort to legalize video slot machines under the lottery's auspices. Critics warned that it could cr

Would you know a good bet if U-C-1
Quote: Originally posted by WIN D on February 13, 2005 I guess no one else knows what a good bet is either Badger. I already said what i believe is a good bet. It's one that wins most of the time. That could be 51% or 60% or 90% of the time. Find any situation of 50/50...... and find it having hit that way 10 times in a row...oh boy! Then..... bet it to go the other way. You will be right over 90% of the time. You may only see it once a yr. in your State's game.... but that would be a great

Oregon Lottery seeks to start video slot games in July
Despite the opposition of some legislators, Oregon Lottery officials yesterday indicated that July 1 is being targeted as the start-up date for the lottery's new video slot-machine games. We aren't just going to flip a switch. We are going to plan it and make it successful, Lottery Director Dale Penn said during a meeting of the state Lottery Commission.Penn's comment came as the panel voted to begin exploring the steps needed to implement Gov. Ted Kulongoski's plan to expand state-sponsored ga

Florida Scratch Offs - Post Pictures if posible
One other thing worth noting about their collection/destruction of tickets is something I was told by .. let's say a Lotto employee (go with me for a moment, it's long):
When new games come out, lottery pushes retailers to stock the new games and even run incentive programs where retailers can win entries into a prize drawing (link) based on the books they activate. All retailers are expected to activate new games the day they come out (or the day they receive them). Publix, and any store wit

Poaching for winning tickets
James1,
I enjoyed your story. IMHO you did nothing wrong. It took me way back to when I was young. A long time ago, I was told that something similar is done in gambling casino's with slot machines. I've never done it, but I heard about it after I won a small jackpot playing a slot.
Forty plus years ago, I was playing a slot machine in Harrah's casino in Lake Tahoe. I had been playing it for a while, (I dont remember how long I was playing this particular machine) but I was not winning any
