Lottery Players Robbed At S.C. Store
Half a dozen people playing the lottery were forced to lie on the floor late Monday while two men held guns on them at the Lotto Supercenter on U.S. 21 in York County, South Carolina. N.C. lottery retailers caught selling to minors
Fourteen Western North Carolina lottery retailers were cited for selling tickets to minors in the state's first test of the underage law, according to state Alcohol Law Enforcement Division records. A two-month investigation done in August and September randomly checked 348 retailers statewide. Of those, teenagers were successful 98 times in buying $1 scratch-off tickets. Man who stole winning lottery ticket gets 5 years
A judge on Friday sentenced Sam Grair to five years and four months in prison for stealing a lottery ticket worth $524,000 at the store where he worked. Grair, 43, pleaded guilty in September to grand theft and presenting a fraudulent claim to a government agency.
