N.C. Lottery gets new director
The N.C. Education Lottery Commission tonight named Alice Garland, deputy executive director for legislative and corporate communications, as the new executive director of the N.C. Education Lottery.
Garland will be the second director and has served as acting executive director since the first director, Tom Shaheen, announced his resignation in August.

Arkansas lottery director up for review for first time
The director of the Arkansas Lottery, who oversaw its successful launch but has had a series of high-profile flubs, will receive his first employee evaluation Wednesday when the Arkansas Lottery Commission.

Tom Shaheen, who has headed the North Carolina Education Lottery since its inception four years ago, has resigned his post to take a job with a company involved in the sale of lottery tickets through ATMs.

Oregon Lottery employee promoted to interim director
Larry Niswender was promoted Tuesday to interim director of the Oregon Lottery.
Niswender was named by Gov. Ted Kulongoski to succeed Dale Penn. Penn was named by Kulongoski to a Marion County circuit judgeship.
Niswender has been at the Oregon Lottery since September 2005, when he became assistant director for support services and deputy director under Penn.

Missouri Lottery names new director
The Missouri Lottery Commission named May Scheve Reardon of St. Louis as the executive director of the Missouri Lottery during a commission meeting held today in Jefferson City. Her appointment takes effect immediately.
