Iowa Lottery requires winners to sign tickets
On the heels of a similar announcement from the Ontario Lottery, the Iowa Lottery has imposed a new rule aimed at reducing the possibility of retailer fraud. Starting March 15, 2008, Iowa retailers will only be able to check and cash lottery tickets if they have first been signed by the ticketholder. Nebraska man wins Iowa Lottery's $500,000 second-chance jackpot
A railroad worker from Lincoln, Nebraska collected a $500,000 check Friday from the second chance drawing of the Iowa/Kansas Midwest Millions scratch ticket lottery game. Fifty-year-old Ralph Kuwamoto says he bought the tickets at a store called Eddy's in Glenwood, Iowa and then mailed them in for the second-chance drawing. Iowa Lottery planning first ever raffle
They're used by all sorts of groups to raise money, and now the Iowa Lottery is preparing to launch its first ever raffle, joining several other state lotteries across the nation that have done the same. Local Iowa police report surge in lottery scam letters
At least three Marshalltown, Iowa, residents have been targeted by a bogus check scam in the last two weeks, according to Marshalltown Police Chief Lon Walker. Iowa custodian wins $1 million in lottery scratch game
A custodian for the Davenport school district in Iowa cashed in a lottery ticket Monday worth $1 million becoming the first top prize winner in the Iowa Lottery's Set for Life'' scratch-off game. Iowa Lottery discontinues five scratch games
The Iowa Lottery is officially ending five instant-scratch games and players have until September to claim prizes in them. The lottery has announced the end of the Crazy 8's Bingo, Wild Crossword (Confetti), Blackjack (orange) , 4's Galore and Only at the Fair scratch games. Kansas, Iowa lotteries create first multi-state scratch game
The nation's first multi-state lottery scratch-off game will make its debut this summer at the Kansas State Fair. The $10 Midwest Millions game also will be sold in Iowa. Ties between collegiate sports and gambling are typically forbidden.
