State prepares for upcoming Powerball changes
A one-dollar Powerball ticket will soon be a thing of the past. Changes are coming to the Kentucky Lottery.
After the first of the year a Powerball ticket will cost $2 instead of $1. On Friday, the Kentucky Lottery kicks off sales for its newest game, 50/50 Split the Pot Raffle.
Tickets for the new raffle game will only be available for a period of less than four weeks, and on June 10, one lucky winner is going to win half the proceeds.

Kentucky Lottery retailers get technology upgrade
Lottery cites extra player security as benefit
New terminals will soon be in place at all Kentucky lottery retailers which will provide smoother and safer transactions for players.
The new equipment began rolling out in October of last year, and crews across the state have nearly completed converting more than 2800 retailers to the upgraded technology. The new devices include touch-screen terminals connected via satellite to the lottery's Louisville headquarters.

Clerk's lottery ticket error wins woman $1 million
Pamela Ivey won $1 million in the Mega Millions multi-state lottery after a store clerk accidentally added the game's multiplier feature to her ticket, which quadruples the amount the player can win.
Ivey, who bought the ticket in Georgetown, Ky., didn't ask for the Megaplier, which doubled the price of her ticket from $5 to $10, but she took it anyway.

Lottery error prompts payout on two sets of winning numbers

An incorrect number reported by the Virginia Lottery for Wednesday night's Win For Life drawing has prompted the participating states of Georgia, Kentucky, and Virginia to payout on two sets of winning numbers.
Win For Life is a multi-state lottery game played in Georgia, Kentucky, and Virginia. Players choose six numbers from 1 to 42, and can win one of eight different prizes, ranging from $2 to the Grand prize of $1,000 a week for life.

A Kentucky woman facing disaster has been literally lifted from the ashes by a miracle $80,000 lottery win.
