Man rescues lotto ticket from garbage, wins $25,000 a year for life
A Michigan man will be making $25,000 a year for life after rescuing his lotto ticket from the garbage.
Jeff Heinig rescued his Lucky for Life ticket from the trash after he initially tossed it thinking it was worthless.
Heinig, who is from the town of Harrison, purchased the ticket last Wednesday.
He told the state's lotto officials that he got his dates mixed up and checked the website before the drawing had even happened.

Michigan woman wins 3 large Keno prizes on same day
Talk about a lucky day.
A Lansing woman recently won three big Michigan Lottery prizes on the same day and one of them was worth $250,000.
The 42-year-old woman, who chose to remain anonymous, won the three Keno prizes on three different tickets for the same drawing.
On one ticket, she matched 10 of the 22 numbers drawn Feb. 5 to win a $250,000 prize. Her winning numbers were: 7, 11, 40, 66, 71, 74, 76, 78, 79, and 80.

Michigan Lottery adds Double Play 2nd-chance option for Fantasy 5, Lotto 47
So you didn't hit the jackpot on Fantasy 5 or Lotto 47?
A new option being offered by the Michigan Lottery is giving players a second chance to win big and doubles non-jackpot prizes.
The lottery's new Double Play option, which costs $1 more per panel per draw, begins Sunday at Michigan lottery retailers.

85-year-old claims Lucky for Life lottery prize with hours to spare
Eighty-five-year-old Bob Hissom bought a winning lottery ticket Jan. 1 of last year and just cashed it in this week right before it expired.

A Michigan woman said she wouldn't have realized her scratch-off lottery ticket was worth $300,000 if she hadn't tried to enter it in a second chance game.

A homeless Michigan man who realized he won the state's Lotto 47 game dived into a dumpster to retrieve the winning ticket.
