Historic lottery award ceremony Friday in Michigan

For the first time in Michigan Lottery history, two mega jackpot winners will collect their winnings at the same time Friday at Michigan Lottery headquarters in Lansing.
Most public interest will likely be centered on the winner of Saturday's $128.6 million Powerball drawing. That's because of the unique location where the winning ticket was purchased: an adult video and book store in Highland Park.
The location also includes a walk-up window for lottery ticket purchase

When it was announced at Lottery Post Sunday that the winning Powerball ticket was sold at the Uptown Book Store, few people outside of Highland Park, Michigan, knew that location was actually a porn shop, specializing in adult books, pornographic movies and sex toys.

$140M Mega Millions lottery ticket sold in Michigan

Friday night's single winning Mega Millions lottery ticket, worth $140 million, was sold in the Upper Peninsula town of Gladstone, Michigan.
The Mega Millions Lottery is offered in 35 states, and holds the record for the largest jackpot in North American history.

Lottery bill could limit winner's take
Michigan welfare recipients couldn't claim major prizes
Michigan lawmakers are being asked to prevent any person receiving welfare from winning major Michigan State Lottery prizes, and the idea has area residents and business people at odds.

Couple, son charged in Detroit illegal lottery

A federal judge in Detroit today unsealed a criminal complaint detailing a large-scale, multi-state gambling operation allegedly run by an elderly Detroit couple that for decades has operated out of coney island restaurants, storefronts and homes in the Detroit area.

Michigan Lottery holds new 50/50 raffle draw

The Michigan Lottery continued with its string of unique and creative raffle-style games with the drawing today of its Ultimate 50/50 Raffle.
Unlike past raffle drawings, this latest game had a shorter ticket sales period, offered discounts for larger wager quantities, and awarded all of its available prize money to one lucky winner.

A regular lottery customer of a gas station market in Kalamazoo, Mich., holds the winning Mega Millions ticket for a $36 million jackpot, the store owner said Monday.
