Third $1 million lottery prize goes unclaimed in Michigan this year
Michigan residents apparently aren't checking their lottery tickets, as a $1 million prize went unclaimed on Thursday for the third time this year, the state lottery said.
The lottery reported the ticket expired at 4:45 p.m. and was purchased at the Speedway gas station located at 10070 Highland Road in Hartland. The money now goes to the state School Aid Fund, the lottery said.

Mega Millions lottery winner worth $227 million sold in Texas

A single ticket sold in Texas matched the winning numbers from Tuesday night's Mega Millions drawing and is worth an estimated $227 million.
The Texas Lottery announced that the ticket was sold at the Lakeline Express Mart on 2004 N. Lakeline Boulevard in Cedar Park. The retailer is eligible to receive a $1 million retailer bonus for selling the jackpot-winning ticket, which was a quick pick.

$80 million Powerball jackpot lottery ticket sold in Michigan
A Michigan Lottery player won Saturday night's $80 million Powerball jackpot with a ticket bought in Suttons Bay, according to the Michigan Lottery.
The winning ticket, bought at the Barrels Barrels Party Store in Suttons Bay in northern Michigan, matched the Powerball number 22, plus the day's winning numbers: 1, 9, 22, 36, and 68.
Saturday's jackpot win is the fourth time a Michigan player has won the Powerball since the state began offering the game in 2010, the Michigan Lottery said.

A San Diego woman never has to work another day in her life after cashing in her winning Mega Millions lottery ticket she purchased at a deli near Sorrento Valley.
Laarni Bibal picked up a Quick Pick ticket at the Sorrento Deli Mart at 10920 Roselle Street on June 7. The next day, she heard a winning ticket had been purchased at her favorite store.

After 20 years of playing the same lottery numbers, Delaware man wins $25,000 a year for life
Ever since he won $500 in the lottery 20 years ago, one 65-year-old New Castle, Delaware, man has been playing the same numbers over and over, hoping they'd pay off again.
On Sept. 9, they finally did, winning him $25,000 per year for life in the Lucky for Life drawing.

Missouri couple claim their second major lottery prize
A Missouri couple who won a $3.7 million lottery prize in 2007 saw their luck heat up a second time last week, narrowly missing out on another multi-million dollar prize.
Marilyn and Jimmie Lovelace matched four of the five white-ball numbers, plus the Powerball, that were drawn Sept. 4, the Missouri Lottery said in a statement.
