Two big Penn. Lottery prizes due to expire July 4
Unclaimed winning tickets were sold in Westmoreland and Montgomery counties
Two Pennsylvania Lottery winning tickets a Powerball ticket worth $200,000 and a Quinto evening ticket worth $50,000 from the July 4, 2009, drawings have yet to be presented for payment.
The tickets and prizes will expire on July 4, one year from the date of the drawings.
The Lottery never likes to see large prizes like these expire, which is why we're reaching out and hoping someone steps forward to claim them

Some upset with Pennsylvania Lottery broadcast
Pittsburghers who watch the nightly lottery drawings have been losing a little sleep lately, though it's not because of big jackpot jitters.
When the multi-state Mega Millions debuted Feb. 2 in Pennsylvania, state lotto officials asked television stations statewide to broadcast it in the same time slot as the Powerball drawing, which airs Wednesdays and Saturdays.

Pennsylvania Lottery announces Match 6 Lotto will return in June
Returning game will replace Mix Match on Monday, Thursday evenings
Next week, the Pennsylvania Lottery will bring back Match 6 lotto, a $2 terminal-based game offering a starting jackpot of $500,000 and four ways to win on each ticket.
Match 6 will replace Mix Match in the Pennsylvania Lottery's Monday and Thursday evening drawing shows at 6:59 p.m. Match 6 tickets go on sale Tuesday, June 1, and the first drawing will be Thursday, June 3.

Pennsylvania Mega Millions lottery sales falling short of target
So far, the Mega Millions lottery game hasn't been the big winner Pennsylvania Lottery officials predicted.
Lottery officials hoped Mega Millions would generate $80 million in sales by June 30, the end of the fiscal year. Sales for the multi-state lottery game with big jackpots similar to Powerball began Jan. 31.
From February through April, Mega Millions generated $26.2 million in sales. To meet the initial target, the game would have to sell $54 million in May and June.

Pa. Lottery to pull the plug on Super 7
Pennsylvania Lottery officials announced the final drawing for Super 7 will be later this month, but it doesn't seem like players will miss the game.
Officials cite higher jackpots in the Mega Millions drawing as the decision to cancel the Super 7 game. The last chance for Pennsylvania residents to play will be April 27.

Pennsylvania store manager accused in lottery thefts
The ex-store manager of a Bangor, Pennsylvania, area gas station pleaded not guilty Monday to charges that she stole instant lottery tickets that cost the station a little more than $74,000 over three years.
While Tolino Fuel Service officials said Michelle Ann Zucal, 39, of Bangor had admitted to stealing lottery tickets, defense attorney Gregory Paglianite tried to raise questions as to how they know Zucal was responsible for the store's entire loss.

Penn. Lottery loses big on 7-7-7-7 win
Talk about your lucky sevens.
Wednesday night, all sevens came up in Pennsylvania Lottery's Big 4 drawing, resulting in a whopping $7.77 million payout to 3,107 winning tickets.
In an added twist, the news came Thursday when the Super 7 jackpot was $7.3 million and Cash 5's top prize was $770,000.

States go all in, expand gaming to plug the budget
Faced with a drop in gambling revenue, states are adding games, considering new casinos and increasing lottery options anything to keep their cut of the profits rolling in.

Casino table games are coming to Pennsylvania
It's a done deal at last. Table games are coming to Pennsylvania by the end of the year.
By a vote of 103-89, legislation to legalize poker, blackjack, roulette, and other table games received long-awaited final approval last night in the state House. Gov. Rendell plans to sign the bill today.
