Lottery ticket sold in Pennsylvania wins $516 million Mega Millions jackpot
Updated annuity and cash jackpot final tallies, and location winning ticket was sold

After a run of 26 drawings without a jackpot winner, the 27th drawing of the multi-state Mega Millions game produced a single $516 million winner last night when one lottery ticket sold in Pennsylvania matched all five numbers plus the Mega Ball.
The winner will now have to choose between being paid $516 million in 30 annually-increasing payments over 29 years or the lump-sum cash value

Police arrested and jailed a Pennsylvania man on Tuesday after he was caught altering scratch-off lottery tickets to look like winners using scissors and a glue stick.
Craig Marshall Stout, 45, of Jeannette tried cashing in his DIY lottery tickets at a 7-Eleven convenience store on Fosterville Road in Hempfield but failed to get away with it this time.

A Pennsylvania Superior Court panel ruled on Friday that a man who split from his long-time girlfriend one week after winning $100,000 from a scratch-off lottery ticket must give her half the winnings.
During a period of attempted reconciliation in February 2018, Jeffrey Jones and Ruthann Colachino were ecstatic to win a $100,000 prize from the Bingo Squared scratch-off game.

Pa. store clerk accused of stealing over $17K worth of lottery tickets
Police in Meyersdale, Pennsylvania, say a woman stole more than $17,000 worth of lottery tickets from a Sheetz store where she worked.
According to a criminal complaint, 37-year-old Cheryl Delawder was confronted by her manager after she was seen on video taking tickets from the lottery machines.

Pa. Lottery blames growth of skill games, lack of big jackpots for drop in profits
The growing proliferation of so-called skill games at Pennsylvania Lottery retailers are having an impact on the lottery's ability to generate revenue to pay for programs for senior citizens, a lottery official told state lawmakers on Tuesday.

State auditor general to audit Pennsylvania Lottery, with special focus on high-frequency winners
State Auditor General Eugene DePasquale announced a new performance audit of the Pennsylvania Lottery Wednesday, with a special emphasis on studying the state-run gaming franchise's protections against being ripped off by players or retailers who are intentionally gaming the system.

Lottery player wins $150,000 in New Jersey, $100,000 in Pennsylvania
A New Jersey man is a two-state lottery winner after winning $150,000 in his home state and $100,000 in Pennsylvania.
The winner, identified as Thomas A. of Pitman, told New Jersey Lottery officials it was just luck that he decided to buy a High Card Poker scratch-off ticket with a spare $5 he had left over from buying some more expensive lottery tickets.
