Bank details of lottery winners found by road
The bank details of 200 wealthy people including 3 UK lottery winners have been found by the side of the road after apparently falling out of a couriers van.
The details belonged to the customers of finance firm Prudential and included items such as checks and other personal documents that criminals could use to steal the identities of those people.

D.C. Lottery thefts tied to lax security processes
D.C. officials learned last year that lax enforcement of security procedures made it possible for a handful of contract employees to steal tens of thousands of dollars in lottery tickets and prize money, according to records released this week in response to a Freedom of Information Act request filed with the District of Columbia Lottery Charitable Games Control Board.

Atlantic Lottery adds new ticket security measures
The Atlantic Lottery Corp. is introducing more measures aimed at tightening the security of lottery ticket validation, the corporation said this week.
Starting Monday, the corporation's online ticket terminals will print two slips whenever a winning ticket is validated for an amount the retailer is to pay, a release Wednesday said.
After validating winning tickets, retailers will be required to pay the prize, stamp the winning tickets Paid, and return them along with one of the validation

Ontario Lottery security chief steps down; investigation underway
A vice-president of the Ontario Lottery and Gaming Corporation is taking a paid leave of absence while Toronto police try to determine if he was in a conflict of interest by working at the lottery and the OPP at the same time.

Texas Lottery audit finds security flaws
The Texas Lottery Commission needs to better enforce its computer system security policies and more effectively ensure that its main contractor is conducting background checks on its employees, according to a state auditor's report obtained Wednesday.
The report, which is scheduled for public release on Friday, said security at the lottery is generally satisfactory. But the auditors identified several significant security weaknesses, especially in the area of system access.

Iowa couple arrested in lottery fraud
A Waverly, Iowa, couple is facing criminal charges for allegedly cashing counterfeit lottery tickets.
Lottery officials allege Scott and Jennifer Brandhorst redeemed the forged TouchPlay tickets at a Hy-Vee store in Cedar Rapids, one for $300 and another for $325. Cedar Rapids police reportedly matched the couple with a surveillance video.
Investigators arrested the pair as they were leaving their home at 1868 Dakota Ave. in Waverly on Monday. They were taken to the Linn County Jail.
