A player from Alberta, Canada, accidentally purchased two Lotto 6/49 tickets that had the same exact numbers, but he's not sweating the trivial amount he spent on that extra ticket. Canada lotteries changing biggest games to computerized drawings
Random number generators will be used for Lotto Max and Lotto 649 after May 14
Starting mid-May, players of Canada's two largest multi-province lottery games will no longer be able to rely on real lottery ball drawings to choose the winning numbers.
Instead, the Interprovincial Lottery Corporation will retire the lottery balls that generate the winning numbers for Lotto Max and Lotto 649 on May 14, moving to a computer program called a random number generator.

A Canadian man who won a CA$9.7 million (US$7.4 million) lottery jackpot said he wants his children to find out about it on the news.

A Mississauga, Ontario, woman has won what is being called the largest jackpot ever in the history of Canadian lottery.
