Lottery game sparks gambling fever in eastern Canada
A Canadian lottery game used to raise money for charity has brought gambling fever to the city of St John's in the remote eastern province of Newfoundland and Labrador.
Chase the Ace is a lottery game popular all over Canada's east coast, and often raises money for charity.
The winner of each week's draw gets to pick one card out of a deck; the ace of spades wins the jackpot.
A record-breaking-million-dollar game has attracted thousands of people to the Goulds area of St John's.

A Canadian man who won a CA$9.7 million (US$7.4 million) lottery jackpot said he wants his children to find out about it on the news.
Daniel Schulli of Abbotsford, British Columbia, said he's been in a state of shock and elation since winning the top price in the Sept. 17 Lotto 6/49 draw.

$38,194 winning lottery ticket spent months forgotten in a drawer
A Canadian lottery winner said his $38,194 winning ticket almost went unclaimed after he forgot about it for months.
Maximo Ramos of Yellowknife, Northwest Territories, said he won $38,194 in the Western 649 drawing, but he was unaware of his win for several months while the ticket languished forgotten in a drawer.
