Heather and Jason McCarty's wedding anniversary this week (their 10th) will be just a wee bit more special this time around.
Jason McCarty, 36, bought a winning lottery ticket last weekend worth $4.4 million at the Q-Stop IV at 914 Bryan Road off Interstate 70 in O'Fallon. He purchased a $5 Quick Pick Lotto ticket that selected the six winning numbers: 21, 23, 26, 35, 36 and 38 for the jackpot.

Missouri Lottery raffle makes a millionaire
Somebody is $1 million richer following the Missouri Lottery's Million-Dollar Raffle drawing, which was held today.
One winning raffle number was drawn for the $1 million top prize, four winning numbers were drawn to win $100,000 and 440 lucky players' winning numbers were drawn to receive $500.

A special promotion is giving Missouri Lottery Pick 3 players a shot at doubling their chances of winning cash in the Midday drawing.
From Oct. 19 through Nov. 15, the Lottery will draw the winning Pick 3 numbers along with a second drawing from among three white balls and one orange ball. According to the North American Assoc. of State and Provincial Lotteries, 42 states and the District of Columbia run lotteries, and more than half claim the games boost funding for education. The winner of the largest lottery jackpot ever sold in Missouri worth more than a quarter of a billion dollars bought the ticket at a suburban St. Louis grocery store, state lottery officials said Thursday.

Those lousy lottery-check scams are mutating again and ensnaring more unsuspecting consumers.
But first, folks, you just shouldn't fall for these goofy scams. No honest lottery in the world gives out free money.
