The jackpot in the multi-state Mega Millions lottery game has grown to a near-record $310 million.
None of the tickets sold for Friday's $262 million drawing matched all five lotto numbers and the Mega Ball. The next drawing will be Tuesday. Drawing results will be displayed at www.usamega.com shortly after 11:00 PM Eastern Time Tuesday.
There were 12 second-prize winners from Friday night's drawing: 2 from California, 1 from Georgia, 2 from Illinois, 1 from Maryland, 1 from Michigan, 1 from New Jersey, 2 from New York, 1 from Ohio, and 1 from Virginia. Each ticket matched all five lotto numbers but not the Mega Ball number to win $250,000. (The California players won $236,204 each, because of California's pari-mutuel prize payout structure.)
Also, 103 players matched four of the five lotto numbers, plus the Mega Ball number. Those tickets are each worth $10,000 (California 4+1 winners will get $10,736.)
The winning numbers from Friday's drawing were: 9, 14, 34, 50, and 51. The Mega Ball number was 40.
The Texas Megaplier was 4.
I am surprised they only sold about $71,000,000 in tickets. The last jackpot of $250 back in Sept sold almost $90,000,000. I wonder what the difference is about. Gas prices are back to a lower level and everything. Anyone have any ideas?

The holidays are upon us. But by Tuesday people will begin to pull some of those dollars away from holiday plans and begin to roll the dice. If no one hits Tuesday look for the pot to go up to $370m.
There might be something like "Jackpot Burnout". We're so used to seeing triple-digit millions and then the winner(s) end up to be clear across the country (usually), and we just got finished putting out tens of dollars on Mega and then Powerball and now Mega again. I'm playing about the same as I did last drawing.
Could be in between Pay checks for people that get paid bi-weekly
I'm sure that people will be back to buying a bunch of tickets for this next jackpot.
word goes out about a 250 pot not much happens 300 million people start getting ready if not hit tuesday every one will want a chance 175 million to 1 is easy to play with a 3 or 400 million jack pot pools and crazy spending 50 bucks or so arn't in play yet may be tuesday we'll see a run but wed will bring a 100 million jump if it rolls roll roll roll
I'm happy that MM did roll. However, the jackpot roll now at 310 million was 5 million shorter [315 million] than the latest run if no one had hit the jackpot 8 weeks ago. If no one hits the jackpot, I would suggest 365 or 370 million.
HAPPY SATURDAY.........11/12/05..........TO ALL MY FELLOW M&M /POWERBALL PLAYERS

Some of you expected a winner, but I didn't. And, thankfully, nobody picked "40".....It never even occurred to me to choose "40".......OOOOHHHHH...I LOVIN THIS.........

I am very happy it rolled.... too much money went to bills and left me nothing to play with.... Hopefully I can play for Tuesday's draw.
Christmas music is a NECESSITY!!! *rolling eyes*
My wish finally came true - My Christmas music is playing again!!! I'm SO happy!
So far, sixty-four years of the same twenty songs, over, and over, and over.

I am with you on playing the same.......... but then I Never venture outside my numbers of play the more money you put in does not change the odds only your chances and when it comes down to a winning ticket only ONE set of numbers win. But this is just me............................... how you play is how you do.
I am sure glad that I bought my tickets in a multi-draw form what with the roll over and holiday crowds I can just skip on by.
Christmas music is a NECESSITY!!! *rolling eyes*
Please deliver us from Christmas music PLEASE!!!!
Be nice to me!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
It will hopefully help me win... counting the number of times certain songs get repeated in one day... hee hee hee.
The good news, they play something else during April.
yep...., Jackpot burnout! . Don't even know if I will contribute to this Jackpot that someone else will win. I always thought that the MM would be a big one; one year during a holiday like the PB 12/02 was. The day after Thanksgiving would be nice or the eve of Christmas Eve would be nicer. Bigger JackpotThe odds .... well Somebody will be the odd BALL
I don't understand why people are getting so excited about the jackpot rolling over. What's wrong with winning $20 million? Even if you took the cash option and paid the maximum tax, you'd have about $6 million to spend. The states are hoping the jackpot will rollover since it increases sales because of all the excitement and publicity. But it doesn't really help the players, since less people win. People always act as if the jackpot rolls over, they have a better chance of winning the next week. They don't - the odds are still the same. You can spend $100 a week for 50 years and only cover 260,000 of the combinations. Don't get me wrong, I'd love to win $310 million, but a portion of that would suit me just fine! All these rollovers are just proving how difficult it is to win.

It would be nice to win any amount, yes, but, as they say, the bigger, the better!
Life was so much simplier when I only had to think about forty million dollars being a hige amount.
if i got 5 out oof 6 i would call that luck but it would change me just a little greed is good at 11:04 friday night i needed a roll over and i got it i may need it again at 11:04 tuesday lets just put a fork in it and send the cash to atl ga friday 11:04

Depends on which five out of six you hit. 4+1 doesn't change anything except your tax bracket. 5+0 is another matter.
Depends on how much one earns and most likey 4+0 does not even change tax bracket, it may just give some extra cash to blow. 5+0 definitely changes tax bracket and some useful money.

If $10,000 doesn't change your tax bracket, you are in a nice tax bracket. I hit for the old amount, $5,000 and they beat me with a stick.
$250.000 can be spent in a day after tax your at 170,000 2 cars down to 100,000 upgrade membership at lp now you're under a 100 avg dept 40 k now were at 60k that can't last more then 3 years 325 million can last a long time
"Christmas music is a NECESSITY!!! *rolling eyes*"
"Christmastime (and its MUSIC) is the BEST time of the year.. Now if I could only hit MM, it would make it even better."
HAPPY MONDAY...NOCOMP.......
Don't get me wrong I love Christmas & it's "true meaning", but I'm a bit old fashioned....I think we should give THANKSGIVING...11/24....a chance to get here first, a time to show gratitude for so many things, including the opportunities to play the M&M, then afterwards.....look forward to our Christmas Holiday....
Remember first ..............don't cheat the .......LOLOLOLOLOL
Lock your doors. Retailers, the world over, have put you on their hit list. There are never enough holidays to pull at the purse strings.

I'd say. Mega Millions has awarded only SIX jackpots this year so far (soon to be seven)! The previous record LOW amount of MM jackpots won during a full year was set in 2000 (the year of the record annuity jackpot), with only nine jackpots won. In contrast, the record HIGH amount of MM jackpots awarded during a full year was thirteen, which was set in 1998, and that record was matched in 2002.
The record low amount of PB jackpots awarded during a full year was eight, set in 2001. In contrast, the record high amount of PB jackpots awarded during a full year (since 1998, where records are available at lottoreport.com) is being set this year, with a total of thirteen jackpots awarded so far. The previous record high amount of PB jackpots awarded during a full year was twelve, set in 1998, and that record was matched in 2000.
Some one did some research. There should be an award for that.

HAPPY TUESDAY "JUST"....11/15/05
I do concurr w/ your point, however, the sum of $310,000,000.00 is such an unrealistic phenominum that it would be exciting to have the "trouble of dealing w/all those$$$$$$$$$$$$, with or without the "press conference"......and I don't care who knows I won....LOLOLOLOLOLOL
WEEEEEEEEEEE Up to 315 mil......
