  seems to me we all play to win  but the pick 3/4's even if you win  just don't pay  4/5k whoop de doo!  theres only 2 games i like because of their life changing JAACKS!  and thats mega mill and powerball!  after all why do we play the lottory? 

  1.To get rich beyond your wildest dream

  2.To take money from the greedy state lottery system

    ------------------------number 2 alone would suit me

  I play the pick 3/4 and other games because there is simply no other investment of a dollar that will give the return should you win playing those games.

  While 5000 might not seem a lot to you it will however pay for a good vacation, and many other things for that matter who wouldn't want 5000 grand spending money for their birthday or Christmas or any day for that matter.

  Jackpot wins in mega and other big money games are a pipe dream. And many of us will never see that day.

  Some people like to gamble and win once in a while even if they lose money.  That's the reason pick 3/4's are most states most popular games and that one of the reasons the a post in the pick3 forum is buried within an hour after it's posted.  If you play 20 lines of pick3 everyday, you may lose money but you're going to get a box or straight hit within a month even if it doesn't make you rich.  Like you, I only play the jackpot games but then that's me, so add to your list.

  3. To win once in a while even if I lose money 

   * you don't need to buy every combination, just the winning ones *

  with  massachussetts pick 4 if ya ask me the odds are the same as hittin 5 on the big game    10k to1

  2 mill to 1  whats the diffrence

  I actually agree with the author. I used to play pick 4 a lot, and even pick 3, and have won enough. But I still seem to win more playing the jackpot games then I did with the smaller games.

  I also play lottery games that provide a chance at a total life transformation (jackpots) and very rarely play the pick 3 and 4's anymore. For awhile I was getting absolutely no return on them, and more return on jackpot games. Maybe that is a good thing. But I never play any more than about 2 pick 3's and pick 4's tops, and I am sure I could do a lot better if I wanted to invest the money using my systems.

  But like the author of this thread I would much rather go for the life changing amount, as more petty change is not going to bring my dreams to reality. It will simply be reinvested again for another chance at just petty change. So I continue to invest in games that can bring me that lifelong dream.

  If someone has a good system, you can make
  as much money as you want. I would bet $100
  easy if I thought my number was going to hit.

  i agree emily,since march 2004 when the tennessee lottery started i've made over 15,000 dollars on cash 3 and cash 4.i have bought my kids clothes,paid rent,bought dvd recorder,helped on buying new vehicle,etc. what has powerball given me????? a winning ticket worth 400 dollars once and the rest were 3 dollar winners.i know where my bread is buttered.i'll stick with the pick 3 and pick 4.odds in the millions no thank you.odds barely in the thousands sounds a lot more sensible..........

  If that's your belief,  then why even bother to work at figuring out the numbers that may be drawn?

  Just spend $1/draw on a quickpick.  If it's your turn, as you believe, then you'll win. Do anything else and you're wasting your time and money.

  What four4me said. The odds say you'll hit a Pick 4 before you ever (if ever) hit five or six.

  I worked in Vegas and we had a player who played $50 five-spot Keno tickets.He had "deep enough" pockets to play that way and at our particular casino, a five spot special paid $ 1000 on a dollar ticket, so when he won, his payoff was $50,000. And he won frequently.

  His approach to it was he'd been playing Keno a long time and had never hit an 8-spot but had hit plenty of five spots, so he just jacked up how much he played on a ticket. Instead of trying to hit 8 for a $1 ticket and winning $50,000 for the dollar (which may never happen) he was simply "trying to catch five to win $1,000, fifty-dollars worth".
  

  Granted, this guy was flat lucky, too. One wekend he hit for $50,000 three times, and while he was waiting for the payoff he was sticking quarters in a Keno machine and hit that twice for $1750 while he was waiting for his $50,000.

  This was Keno, not lotto, his tickets were patterns, like 2-11-12-21-22, on a Keno ticket that is a "connected", or solid group of five.

  seems I've hit a nerve with Da pick 4 gang!! Dang!!!!   Don't mess wit Da pick 4 gang!!   

             I still will stick to my games cause 4/5 k((or whatever after taxs)) just won't do it for me  but i still hope ya'all win!!

  5 grand is a lot of money.i went on a shopping spree here recently due to pick 4 winnings.you don't see a lot of folks round here winning huge prizes on the jackpot games like you do the pick 3 and pick 4.nothing wrong with the jackpot games but i got tired of being broke and dreaming,lol.

  I don't base my life on chances and odds, I am more into the universal law of attraction. Like attracts like, the subconscious cannot differentiate between negative, and positive...it only gives you more of the same. I live my life based upon contemplative reasoning, and Faith.

  But I guess luck must be on my side so far, as I am sure that most do not win more via jackpot drawings then they do playing the smaller games. I guess that means some were destined for pocket change, others were destined for millions.

  A self-defeatist attitude is a good way to lose ALL the time. However most of the jackpot winners also won out of pure luck alone, and also did not care too much about the odds it seems...Luck is great, but I prefer "opportune luck."
