  The odds of both PB and MM rolling are roughly 61%.

  The odds of PB being won while MM rolls are roughly 16%

  The odds of MM being won while PB rolls are roughly 18%

  The odds of both being won are roughly 5%

  Personally I would like it if one of them was won.  I live in a border area and like the jackpots to be a little out of phase.

  I would, of course, especially like to be a winner myself.

  I seem to have reversed the probabilities for one rolls and not the other.  PB is more likely to be won.

  Before tonight's MM drawing, I thought I'd update this thread for 5/2/06 for the how probable it is for either, both or neither MM or PB to roll.

  Here's the probabilities:

   

  Both Roll	81.47%
  Powerball Rolls, MM won	8.58%
  MM Rolls, Powerball won.	8.99%
  Both won.	0.95%

  Prob988, since PB sets a new roll record in last draw, I hope it continues to roll and possibly set new records. If MM rolls, it will be 113 million for 5/19. It won't have a new roll record if MM rolls.

  Well it looks like the odds of both rolling are pretty bad. Mega failed to break 300 yet again. Probably won't for this year. Since NC is live July 1 it would be more ironic if it hit another record right before anyone in NC could play for it without making a long drive or playing on the internet.

  I think Mega Millions being won under $100 million is a sign that it will break $400 million before the year is over.

  If PB continues to roll, it's possible that it can reach $300+ million. Congratulations to Texas winning a MM Jackpot ($94 million) under $100 million for 1st time in 2006.
