Now that Jeb is out, how much longer before we see Powerball or Mega Millions in Florida?

I don't think it will happen. FL's lottery games are a cash cow for the state and I don't believe it will go to diverting any of that money anywhere.

My vote is within 2 years. I think Florida will rejoin PB or join MM.

Perhaps if Florida joined PowerBall, the minimum jackpot of the PowerBall could increase to $20 million? I sure hope so.

Even if Florida were to join tomorrow, I don't see Powerball increasing its minimum jackpot anytime soon. Powerball's first draw rollovers have never been more than the minimum $5 million since it went to 5/55 + 1/42.

Actually, if you Google "Florida Joins Powerball" you will see that they did at one time join Powerball but never actually started selling the game, the same as California.

rdc137...thanks for the info on Florida and Powerball. You mentioned that California was the same as Florida. When did this happen?

I've lived in FL for over 12 years and I don't ever remember reading that we joined PB. I'd like to read the article to which you are referring. Jeb Bush announced he would never approved joining a multi-state game since it would hurt state revenues.

That's what we are referring to. Florida never actually sold a Powerball ticket. The only state to ever dump Powerball is Georgia.
