Yep. It's a sport.
Just like sports it is the challenge to win.
My challenge in lottery sports is to cut the plays to as few as possible to get a win.

Numbers are where you find them.

A sport? I don't even consider golf and bowling "real" sports, so no, no way is lotto a sport.
(Golfers don't walk the courses anymore, and bowling....well hard to say a bunch of people eating pizza, knocking down beers, and rolling a bowl are 'playing a sport').

Saying lotto is a sport is about like saying sports betting is a sport.

Those who run the lotteries love it when players look for consistency in something that's designed not to have any. So many systems, so many theories, so few jackpot winners.

There is one and only one 'proven' system, and that is to book the action. No matter the game, let the players pick their own losers.

In a way it's a sport, maybe more like exercise.

You're standing in line and someone cuts in front of you. You tell him to wait his turn and you get into a boxing match.
Your battery is dead so you need to jog to 7-11 before it's too late or you'll miss the next drawing.
You stand in front of the TV watching the drawing and jump up an down several times yelling "19, please let the next number be 19." Then it doesn't come up so you drop to your knees and start pounding on the floor.
It's 11:10 and you are waiting for the numbers to appear online, so you pace back and forth in front of your computer and keep refreshing the screen until the numbers change.
Or like bowling, if you spend all of your money on the lottery you'll wind up in an alley wearing smelly shoes that several other people have used.

Newton, Einstein, and many, many others occupied their minds with the world around them. I occupy mine with the randomness of the lotto.

There is a difference between a game and a sport. In fact many activities are considered both. Bowling, Golf, Tennis, Surfing, Skatebording are examples of activities that can be considered a sport, a game, or a leisure activity depending on how it is being conducted.
In my opinion, playing the lottery is a game and not a sport. However, if someone were to form some sort of competition where players are scored on how accurately they pick numbers, it could be considered a sport.

Remeber when you laughed and said that I was only kidding when I said........
It is believed that some activities directors in certain "institutions" have their patients play such games, but it's definitley not considered a "sport"
