I had some problems once in a while when I was on dialup, but not just with LP. I use IE 7 and Netscape 8.1 once in a while. IMHO the internet isn't designed any more for a slow connection, but it depends on what you want to do with it. I'm the first one to admit that a 53.3 connection was just fine with me, and I didn't want to switch or pay the extra fee. I liked paying under $7 a month for service. I even had an old HP Pavilion 8250 with a 266mhz processor that I had upgraded, but I retired it and bought a laptop. Somethings became better, but I still used dialup because of my budget and kept saying "I don't need high speed internet" but was forced to get it for work. After that everything became much faster. It changes the entire internet experience, especially if you enjoy videos and sites like youtube. I never had the patience before to wait for stuff to download.
Anyway, just my 2 cents.

It's amazing.... we depends on computers these days almost as much as we depend on our cars.
True, oh so very true. It actually irritates me some days. Many people don't want to pick up the phone any more because they can send you an email. Most employment ads say "send an email with your resume attached in Word format" or ask you to use an online form. My bank stopped sending canceled checks (there's a fee) but I can print them out online. I know it's easy, and I've been paying bills online for many years. Sure, the internet made renewing my license and registration simple and I can take online courses at my own pace when I used to sit in a classroom for weeks in the past. However, sometimes I still like doing things the old fashioned way.
