Thinking about some of the discussion threads, polls and t.v. stories about lottery winners and losers, I asked myself whether or not LP members would be honest about whether or not they had a money phobia. There is no way of really determining whether or not LP members are poor money mangers, materialistic, "suckers" waiting to be taken to the cleaners, or not. Like people's honesty about whether money can buy happiness. That was a great poll, but I wonder how many people understand the root of both money and happiness. There is even a scripture that says "money answereth all things." If you can answer the problems and questions that life sends you way, that should bring a measure of happiness.
All of that being said, I'm just curious, and thats why the poll.

I said I have no phobia of money, but y'know from the time most of us were tiny toddlers, we were told the evils of money, how it was better to give than receive, and many of us have memories of parents belittling rich people just because they were rich. "They think they're above us." Stuff like that. I'll bet many of us are money phobic at some level without even being aware of it because of all the negative stuff that's been drilled into us.

i voted no because i dont fear money and what can happen if i have alot of it even if the fame and unwanted attention showed up i still would not fear money.

"no" I am not afraid of money. I also don't have a desire for wealth, although if I won a large jackpot, that would be a nice treat!

Money is very helpful to remain wealthy.. Let it work for you.. and by all means...
never let anyone know how much you really have..

per say i do not fear money but there were times when i was short on cash i worried about not having it. And dread they day if ever i went totally broke or didn't have the means to support myself and family. These days i have a respect for money cause i have seen first hand what happens when you are without means to support yourself.

No, I don't have a money phobia. I know its needed to comfortably survive in today's society. Sure one can get by on meager means but I would much rather "get by" on millions. And yes, I have a desire to be very wealthy. I will achieve this goal one way or another.

I don't like to say this, but rich people are superior to everyone else...In what sense? For example you have to work 8 hours a day perhaps 10 hours from 7 am to 3 or 5pm...During all that time a rich person can learn a new language, get a degree in 6 months...And if you have kids is even worse...While you working, every six months a rich person can get a different digree, making him/her overqualified, with all that knowledge and qualification, lose weight, travel all over the world, etc...Been rich is like been the superheroe named "FLASH" (the one that can run faster than a speeding bullet) OR having THE SPEED OF SUPERMAN...And if she/he is superrich is even worse...The only thing a rich person cann't do is live longer than the rest of us...I said rich not well off...Fortunately, most if not all rich folks don't use their wealth to belittle us, or make us inferior or to be overqualified or superior to the rest of us...They usually get so much money that they don't know what to do with it...You all may disagree, but i believe rich people are superior to us...I didn't say well off people but rich people...I bet most rich people find school boring...Thanks to God, I love learning and if i was well off, i will get all sorts of degree, i will spend my life studying and learning.....

My greater fear would be of either boredom or that once my more mundane worries are taken care of the bigger ones that I have no solution for would trouble me more. I'd be concerned that some of my friends might require that I give them money to remain friends but I would be willing to lose such people. The money itself is not to be feared but the reaction to it of the people around you. Always remember to say "Where were you when I was poor?" and if you want to be generous do it with well established organized charities.

Justexploring I believe you when you say that you are not afraid of money, but you have to be kidding when you said that you don't have a desire for wealth. Anyone who plays the lottery (including myself) haves a desire for wealth, If we did not then why would we play? I just think that some people desire it more than others. Like everyone else just waiting for my ship to come in.
