I'm DISGUSTED.

Or just call this "The MANY SINS of the PA Government's SO called Lottery Execs:

1- The doubling of the Pick 6 game price from $1. to $2.

2- The Introduction of a Computerized Pick 5 game (5/30)

3- The MASSIVE reduction of Cash 5 payouts starting at a whopping $10,000. (what a joke) for that same 5/30 computerized game (whereas the initial payout for the 5/39 game starts at $100,000-- yes, $90k more for just 9 more numbers-- it's happily been that way for decades!)

4- The Emasculation of a Pick 5 game (5/19) by calling it "Mix & Match" (aka FLIP & SWITCH) where you have to match the position of the number AND with vastly pitiful payouts for prizes not quite matching all 5 numbers

5- The INCREASE in the Original 5/39 Number Field from 39 numbers to 43 numbers with shameless excuses (i.e. "explanations") to players. Since when is a Cash 5 game improved by INCREASING the number field??

FYI, the 5/39 Cash 5 game, overwhelmingly popular for decades, is won at least every other night or more, thus being a very popular game among players. Yet, it becomes murdered 2/1/08.

To those who support what these corrupt execs are doing, I say this: get your head out of the sands! Take a shower and wash OFF the stench! Refuse to play PA games!

And to the PA Lotto Execs who regularly read and sometimes write posts at LP: consider yourselves UNMASKED!

WOW! I'm Shocked!! Thank God I moved to China!!! I lived in PA before coming here. I use to play the take 5 all the time and it was hard then to get five. You're right, what a joke!!!!!! Here we have a 5/22 and that's even hard to hit!!! Only have gotten 4 numbers. You can always play other states online.

it'll get worse as time goes by.if i had been around in the mid 90's i guarantee you i would be rolling in money now from playing the easy matrixes they had back then.the glory days were when states had those 5/27 matrixes and you actually had a real good shot at hitting something and the playing field was level and fair.but goodness gracious the lottery realized we actually had a good chance and they begin raising the numbers to see if we would still play and we did.so then they did this and raised powerball and mega millions and we still played.then they changed from balls to RNG and most still played.then they charged 30 dollars for scratch offs and people still played.as long as these officials know people will still play they'll keep on with this nonsense.by the way thats why i don't play anymore myself.......

Thats terrible to do that to the lottery games that lots of people like to play on a daily basis. I only have 1 word 'BOYCOT !!!' Hit them back in their wallets. Boycot the PA lottery... you will get results FAST.

Maybe theres a hidden agenda in all this. Maybe they(the lottery exec's) want to discourage people to play the lottery so that maybe people will gamble in a casino there or in a neighboring state, which the exec's may have invested in and want to drive traffic their way. Just a thought.

That was an excellent post, one of the best I've seen on this board.

Good thought, but the lottery execs know that there will always be enough players to sustain a game - no matter how many threaten to boycott a game, few ever really do. The lottery is an absolute example of "if you build it they will come." (More accurately, if you offer it they will play it).

Maybe a game has been dropped because of a boycott but I can't think of any lately, can anyone?

Re: PA casinos, there has been talk for a long time now of casinos at former U.S. Steel sites.

Those who run the lotteries love it when players look for consistency in something that's designed not to have any. So many systems, so many theories, so few jackpot winners.

There is one and only one 'proven' system, and that is to book the action. No matter the game, let the players pick their own losers.

I will abandon playing Cash 5 in PA as of 2/1/08. The game is difficult now and not worth the ridiculous compensation you get in return, and also not having any previous data to analyze in order to do my own picks. I will still take a $1 or $2 dollar shot with a quick pick once it gets high but thats about it.

The change to the game was too drastic...NOW the jackpot winners in PA will be few and far between...Match 6 has a winner about once every two months (at best), Cash 5 used to be won every night now it will be probably once a week..Treasure Hunt (RNG) is a joke with the payouts..Mix and MAtch ($2 to play)also ridiculous with payouts (free ticket, $2, $4)...

I heard some regulars of Cash 5 say they will try playing in Jersey (their Cash 5 has 40 balls and bigger payouts)...

Are the Jackpots getting bigger or going up faster? If so then $2 is not such a big deal...prices go up and if you want the jackpot to be worth something then ticket prices should go up if jackpots go up. Otherwise by the time you win your Million it could be like winning ten cents today.

As far as all the other crap PA is pulling, I agree it is bad.

Well for the one or two vociferous posters the past two years who criticized the PA Cash 5 game that expires Thursday night, the one that will increase from 39 numbers to 43, where are those "know-it-all" posters now? And why can't they defend their verbage/rhetoric?

Where are they? Back in their offices in Harrisburg ruining yet another PA lottery, while viewing LP posts scheming to con some others (here & elsewhere).

Why can't they defend themselves? I'll tell you why: because everything they said was not rational, did not make sense, and was designed to con PA players.

As I said above, to the PA Lotto Execs who regularly read (and POLLUTE) these LP posts, consider yourselves unmasked/exposed!

Actually, the jackpots stopped starting at ONE million dollars like they USED to to a much less (& insulting) sum.

Try to find a state game that you like and see if anyone that you know is going to that state and then give them some money to buy tickets there for you.

Thank you for this post. What an eye opener! Its terribly sad to see such results without the feedback of the community. I doubt ANY PA PLayers had one vote in this new structure.

I for one do have a say where my money goes and it wont be to the CASH 5!

On another note, I'm confused on the Pick 6 pricing. I've always paid 2$ for a Match six ticket.

Has the starting jackpot changed for that as well? It was 500k.

I bagged Mix & Match and Treasure Hunt, so losing the CASH 5 merely means I use it for Powerball.

The instant games are also showing LOWER top prizes and HIGHER stats of Losing!

Lots of times, people in high positions just want to crap down on everyone. I cant see paying $2 for a JP lotto ticket. And I wont pay $2 or I'll stop completely. For the people that said they will boycott (myself included), I think we are all saying that in anger but after (say a month?) I beleive that we WILL PLAY IT.

Here's why: if you play lotto regularly then what game will you play as an alternative to Cash 5? ...

After a little while when people see the jackpots reaching close to $500,000 (and this will happen often) they WILL PLAY ..THE reasons why: It will be the best payout will the best odds offered daily.

IT IS THE MONEY THAT DRIVES PEOPLE NOT ODDS..

IT beats 5/55 POWERBALL($200,000), << NOT offered daily

IT beats MAtch 6 odds (by a factor of 5) $2 ticket and starting payout of $500,000 (also slow rollovers and not played daily)

IT beats 5/30 T-HUNT (start jackpot $10K, computer game and high possibilty you will split will others)

So I mean the game got harder but it will offer bigger jackpots (close to half a million is not bad)

After a month we will play because we will have some data for last 30 drawings to peak at, jackpots wil be high and the other alternatives ..there are none that come close...

And the average player will just say: oh just 4 extra balls, bigger payout,, its ok. (most people are not good at math, the ones that are dont play lotto so often)

The lottery executives they know exactly how people react..they have been in the business too long and every decision they make has been carefully considered...Their decision will PAY OFF in the long run.

I understand what you're saying Benmas,

But... And maybe those of you that have RNG already can help me here. I really dont trust the commission enough to be fair if computer systems are involved in the decision. Maybe im foolling myself altogether, cause even though i read that thread on the manipulated lottery ( "is the lottery rigged?"), I didnt believe it. Sticking something into a ball is alot more difficult to pull off than changing code on a program every now and then. I'd be too afraid. Its the RNG that im afraid of.
