I'm not sure if I writing this in the right forum, if not, please do remove to the appropiate forum. Anyway, I want to make another point about the discussion we had earlier. I went to the Mathematic Board and there's a post titled, "The Beauty of Mathematic."
Now, let me explain, the notion that you can add the numbers of a letter and convert it to percentage point is mathematically wrong. However, I overlook that and got the deeper meaning of what the poster was trying to say. His/her presentation was pretty straightforward so I can't see how anyone would misunderstand it. Even still, other posters came to his/her post and mock the presentation.
Then a thought came to mind: "This is the type of mannerism that kills the spirit of a community" That person felt embarassed to be mocked and wish he/she never started the post. Now, suppose that person had a very "significant approach to the lottery" that would help the LP members... the community as a whole had already shut him/her down and took away his/her confidence to ever utter another word on this site.
This is precisely what I meant about a "maddening culture to "shut up" about it," remember? You said something along the lines that "it's not like that and that people just get tired of repeating themselves over and over" --- I disagree with that Todd. People don't want to share their secrets because of posters that lingers around, waiting for the "kill" on an innocent poster. That's your community here at L.P. Todd.
I like the site here and wouldn't bother me if I get a mockery criticism -- I'd just laugh along with them (Im just a bigger person about it).
Which brings me to my last point and the last time I will emphasize it: Giving players incentives for sharing their ideas, secrets, information, has its' worth. It would keep people like the one that was mocked from disappearing and losing a potential member that could have a viable, "significant" approach to the lottery.
As I said before, "The inquiring minds wants to know", Todd.
