I know this has already been discussed in the past, but tonight when Pumpi asked about the "personality" of a lottery game, I thought I'd start this topic. Although I don't believe a game itself can have a personality, each lottery player chooses a game for a different reason. Example: Someone who mainly plays pick-3 might simply prefer the odds over a game like PB, whereas someone who only plays PB or MM might just be after the huge jackpots, even though the odds of winning are astronomical.
I play Fantasy 5 (1 in 377K) and Florida Lotto (1 in 23M) Sometimes I buy a couple of Florida MM tickets which is a 4/44 & 1/22MB game with odds of about 1 in 3M. I haven't decided if I'll play PB when it comes to FL, but I know I'll only buy QPs if I do. One reason I don't buy pick-3 or pick-4 tickets is because I'm way over my lottery "budget" as it is, and I'd want to play those games everyday, so I'll to stick to the games I've been playing for years. Another is I'd rather win a larger jackpot, although winning $500 getting 3 numbers sounds good to me after losing so much. It's just that it won't have a big impact on my life. Yet my neighbor who is in her 70s & has to work, just lost her husband, got a $5 pick-3 last week, won $300 & bought a plane ticket to visit her family in WV. It's $45 more than the lousy $255 you get from Soc Sec when your spouse dies!

I play because i'll like to go to college, i play win for life though i haven't played it in a while, but all i want is 1 million so that i can go back to college and or have my own private tutor...
And while i am at it, i see the lottery as a challenge, there are several ways i see it and i'll explain...Remember the movie Predator1 with Arnold Schawzzennegger well i see Keno and Powerball like the Alien in that movie, something you can't see, you can't see the patterns, and i feel like i am in the jungle and i have to see this alien or let him flash his eyes at me: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=bDdAz8T-Y1A
That Alien is what Keno and Powerball are very well...Because like the predator, you can't see the future you can see what's Keno or Powerball next numbers are but if you pay very close attention and Keno & Powerball flashes the eyes at you you can see the patterns but they will elude you...Is like 1 second is there the next second is not...Well just like that is Powerball, Keno and Pick6....
I also while i am at it i see it as a challenge to a scientist that i am, and i see Powerball as trying to find the cure to the world's disease...That's how i see it...
and before i continue to the next reason i'll like to say that i always wanted to be an Astronaut...A scientist Astronaut in a spaceship...And this is what i considered myself first and foremost a Scientist Astronaut knowleweable in several disciplines...
I also see it this way, i sometimes feel myself as in the movie Red Planet with Val Kilmer assuming i was in a desolate red planet, with very little air and somehow i had to work myway out of the Red Planet just like Val Kilmer but to do that i had to win Powerball or Georgia's Win for Life...You know i've read a couple of science fiction books about Galaxy farers and i have to say for the stuff you will have to endure as a Galaxy farers and explorer and the hurdles that are out there in the Universe, you will have to endure a lot, you will have to be superhuman for the kind of astronaut i am talking about, you think the Marines are it? Well there are nothing compare to the kind of superhuman you will have to be to be a Galaxy farer in a spaceship or travelling through worm holes...So you will have to be up there, specially smartwise...And i don't know why nasa talks to astronauts, they don't teach those astronauts anything, they don't teach them that they have to be superhuman if they want to cross the stars...Nasa doesn't even have a reclutement School all over the world they nor the Space Agency for kids who are interested, you know you got to take them while they are young...(they don't even do this with microbiology, immunology and nutritions and fitness)...And that's not counting women only counting men...Not even in space oddyssey literature i read about such conditions....What i am describing you will have to be like Kurt Russell in the movie "Soldier" but not only physically but more intelligence than anything else...And i think of Powerball as a hurricane that occurs in a foreign planet the size of Jupiter (as you are aware there are planets in the universe 100 times bigger than jupiter), where the hurricanes will be the size of the Earth...Well i see Powerball as one of those hurricanes that must be solved...
And that's why i play Powerball....
i don't know maybe i take my space science fiction books/novels to seriously...And the funny thing is that a lot of the time i can't read the space science fiction books/novels because they are loaded with Big English words...

and i feel kind of bad too because my youngest sister won the lottery and she doesn't play lottery normally...And here i am talking about lottery, i am the one in the family that talks the most about lottery and is more knowleageable about the lottery and look who wins it, my youngest sister here in Panama...
Here in Panama the only national lottery is a pick4 but you must match it straight you can't match it box...And to compound the problem you can't go to the gas station and pick YOUR NUMBERS whatever number you like...Here you must go to your local supermarket and outside the supermarket you will see sellers selling whatever number THEY want to sell...If you want a special number you must call the lottery office and ask where can you buy that particular number and they will tell you where if it hasn't sold out already....

I would NOT play the lottery in Panama if I lived there...
you're right tiggss95, that's why i don't play it...You got to take buses and go long distances to look for your numbers if they haven't sold out and many times if your number is a hot one they ask you to have it with another number...
Panama will be much better if it had a Pick3 and you had to match it "Straight" and it pay 400 dollars and letting people choose their own numbers...But Panamenians don't want to learn...Recently i was told they were planing on putting a Keno here in Panama...JUst for you to see where this country is headed despite its beautiful canal....
Something else i forgot to mention...Not only you must be like in the movie "Soldier" but you must be extremely inloved with "Ugly" "Ugliness"....Basically you must see the world in black and white and not in color...They will have to call you the man in black...Why i say this? just going to show you 1 example of the many...In a spaceship you are not going to have dentist...See what i mean? how about when you age?Be prepared to work with people that don't have teeth or missing 3 teeth and be prepared to have sex if you have to come to that be prepared to have sex with very, very senior citizen woman/man...Be prepared to recycle your own urine and drink it be prepared to EAT your own excrement/stool (of course all recycled)....Do NASA TEACHES that? Do you READ this in SPACE faring books/novels/literature? NOPE...Becareful you have to be bisexual....JUst be PREPARED...
Again what you must overcome if you want to conquer the stars, galaxy....
the closest thing to exploring the galaxies with your spaceship is a submarine, navigating in submarines over and over...Do NASA DO THIS....NOPe, not even the European Space Agency....Or a submarine will with water...They even haven't event it it yet so that they can navigate the oceans....

If I had a Pick 4 or Pick 5 game close too me, those would be my games of choice and I would probably play them more then any other game. However, they aren't available to me at the moment, so I am basically stuck playing Powerball, Hot Lotto and occasionally Wild Card 2.

I play mostly Fantasy 5 as well. I dabble every now and then with the Mega Money. But, I like the odds better with the Fantasy. We have a pool at work for the Lotto. Not much has happened with that, either. I'm not a scratch off guy or a pick 3 or 4 guy. I guess my feeling is, when I win, I might as well win enough to do something with!
Sooner or later somethings gotta give! Can't win if you don't play!

Hi, Rainmaker. I'm also in Southwest FL. I think we can improve our odds by moving to Miami-Dade county! LOL
Last night I got a Free Play with Fantasy-5 and the 2 winners who shared $234K both won with QPs. People use an expression "it's all a crap shoot" but I don't say that when referring to the FL Lottery. I think there's some skill involved when playing craps.

"Sooner or later somethings gotta give!"
This is so true!
Not whether or not, but When? How much? and where?
I play fantasy 5, pick 3 and pick 4 on occasion, but mostly I focus on MM. I fear that I may only hit once and I'd much rather it were on MM than any other game!
