I dream my 5yr old daughter and me were out somewhere and she went walking ahead of me like she normally try to do, but I always hold her hands whiles we are walking on the streets or crossing the road. Somehow as she was walking, she walked on the side of a car that was passing driving slowly not fast and it so happened that the front right wheel or back right wheel caught her and the car was dragging her and all I try to tell them stop, they didn't stop because they were unaware of what was going on I think. I was like, oh my god, what's going to happen to her because that's my only child, I was really concerned about her. I wake up still not knowing I was dreaming, then I opened my eyes and I felt her on the side of me, so I realize it was only a dream. Thank god. This is the second time I dream about her being in an accident. I probably dream about her being in an accident because she is so active an likes to pull away from me and she just turn 5yrs old in December. Presently I just don't feel she is mature enough to walk on the streets by herself and she is not street smart because I drive everywhere I have to go. The only time I walk is when I am walking on the park or crossing the street or something or taking her to school.

From my own personal point of view and from past experience as well as having children of my own, It's natural to worry about and be protective of our children. We sometimes carry these concerns into our subconcious minds and they manifest into our dreams. You are right, she is to young and active to be walking alone. Just keep talking to her and try to explain to her the possible consequences of her actions (God forbid). As you probably already do, talk to her as you walk on the streets and explain the do 's and don't . Good Luck!!!!!!!!!

Thank you so much for your advice tabahan10. It is so nice to know that people care about you and your concerns. I will talk to my daugher until she understands my reasons for not letting her walk alone. I always tell her if she is walking behind a big truck or even a car that the car may not see her because she maybe too small for them to see her in the back of there vechicle. In her mind she thinks she is a big girl and she is capable of walking alone. Some 5yr olds know how to walk on the road alone because they are street smart, they probably use to there parents walking on the road with them but in her case it's different because I always had a car.
