Tonight I hit 2 numbers again (as usual) out of 6 tickets, so I get yet another "useless" free qp. Unless the win results in a refund or net gain (hitting at least 3 numbers), I don't consider it a win. I've tried changing it up...playing qp...playing my usual set of numbers...playing hots and colds...overdue numbers...certain types of sums...and nada. I won't exceed $10 worth of tickets per drawing either, even though I could afford it, because hitting 3 barely even pays out $10...or maybe I haven't reached that point of desperation quite yet.
And how is it that there's always at least 1 winner for every drawing down here? I know in my state there are likely millions of players every night, and the odds of hitting the jackpot are just slightly under 377,000...which is far better than being struck by lightning (576,000)...but I find it puzzling that there's almost always at least 1 winner every single day. In fact, over the past several weeks, 2 winners each drawing has been more common than 1 winner. I've also been reading the game results press releases they print up every day, and there's almost always a qp that wins.
It becomes quite discouraging to endure so many losses with all of that in mind, especially at the frequency I've been playing the pick 5 lately (about 5 times a week if you include the free qps I win about twice a week), coupled with however many hours I waste trying to analyze results.
Lately my "newest" strategy has been saying screw it and playing as many numbers as possible spread across 6 tickets...with none or very few numbers repeated between tickets, just so I can add insult to injury. I guess it is comforting to be able to say "I had all the winning numbers tonight somewhere on my tickets." I have been playing anywhere between 26 - 30 out of all 36 possible numbers spread over 6 tickets for the past few drawings, and on tonight's draw I ended up playing 27 out of 36, or 75% of the numbers.
I wrote down the 9 numbers that were omitted from my selections (all of which ended up being either cold or extremely overdue numbers that haven't come up in over a week). Then when tonight's winning numbers came up, I was suddenly enthusiastic as the very first thing I checked was the 9 numbers I hadn't played for tonight's draw...and none of them had hit. Seemed like a good sign..I mean right there I just overcame the 25% chance that one of the 5 winning numbers wasn't going to be found anywhere on my 6 tickets. Of course after discovering that yet again I only hit 2 in a row, I was disappointed as usual. But what made it worse was the fact that tonight, I would have finally hit 3 numbers...which would have been the first time in over 2 months of on and off playing for me to accomplish such a feat..if had I played my usual sets. I did actually play my usual sets tonight, but with slight alterations on each ticket so that I could spread my selection to as many numbers as possible. Maybe if I hadn't gone through with this seemingly absurd idea of spreading as many numbers as possible across 6 tickets, I would have won for once. But after having no luck with these sets for so many weeks I decided change was in order. I'm not a big fan of playing the same numbers everytime anyway. Especially when you feel like the one time you don't play them they'll hit so it becomes difficult to let go...arghh. I just can't believe it's been this difficult to hit even 3 of 5 numbers after so many weeks.
If so many of us on here believe you have a better chance of hitting if you either use systems/stats/wheels/frequencies instead of wasting money on qps, then why don't we have more jackpot winners on here? Starting to wonder if I'm just better off not wasting anymore time and just playing all qps from now on...considering a qp is basically always winning every drawing. Yet I never win anything with the free qps I receive for hitting 2 numbers...which further discourages me from playing qps in general.
