One ticket matched all six winning numbers in Tuesday's Mega Millions drawing to win the estimated $64 million jackpot, according to lottery officials.
The sump-sum cash value of the jackpot was $41.8 Million.
The winning ticket was purchased in Kings County, New York. The winning numbers were 5, 14, 17, 19 and 24 and the Mega Ball number was 25. The Megaplier was 4.
In addition to the lucky jackpot winner, 16 lucky players matched the first 5 numbers but not the Mega Ball for a $250,000 second-prize: 1 from Arkansas, 4 from California, 1 from Connecticut, 1 from Kansas, 1 from New Jersey, 3 from New York, 2 from North Carolina, 2 from Ohio, and 1 from Texas.
The California second-prize winners will each receive $58,360 instead of the $250,000 second-prize winners in other states will receive. That's because California awards all lottery prizes using a pari-mutuel method that calculates the prize amount based on the amount wagered combined with the number of winners.

The multi-state Mega Millions lottery numbers are drawn every Tuesday and Friday at 11 p.m. Mega Millions is available to play in 41 states plus the District of Columbia.
In other multi-state lottery news, the jackpot for tonight's Powerball drawing is $190 million.
Powerball is available in 42 states plus the District of Columbia and the U.S. Virgin Islands. Drawings are held Wednesday and Saturday nights at 10:59 p.m. The winning numbers are published at USA Mega.
I said it before and I'll say it again, I don't care if California 2nd place winners occasionally get more money than everybody else - that pari-mutuel system sucks. Now 4 winners in CA are getting $58,000 instead of $250,000 or a million if they had the Megaplier. That bites - bigtime.

I'm curious to know if the winning jackpot ticket was purchased using the Quick Pick Method. It seems a lot of Jackpot winners across the country( and in NY ) have won the first place prize by selceting the "Quick Pick" Method .

I figured it was a self pick because the numbers are really low and are common numbers that people would pick like B-day numbers..... the numbers that won are more like cash 5 or pick 6 winning numbers...... i told my mom last night when i saw the drawing on TV i said '' yup sum1 gonna win mega millions 2nite''

Yep I did the math myself the $91,896,000 giveaway amount is correct but I'm not a greedy person I wouldnt mind having only $2 - 5 million from the $190 Million jackpot even though i'm not certain what exact amount a Jackpot winner would recieve after taxes are taken out.
Cash amount is $99 million;
After taxes, approximately 69 to 74 million at 25% or 30%..

That means the prize for that drawing stays in the pot and more is added for the next drawing.
Kings County is right over the bridge rd..., right over the bridge....You can take Brooklyn Bridge, or Manhattan bridge, Williams-burgh Bridge...but rd, now you know very well you can load up anything you like...except the Whiskeyyyy... You wont need it anyway!
