NATIONAL CITY, Calif. — A National City, California, man who has played the same Fantasy 5 numbers for a decade finally hit the jackpot, California Lottery officials announced Tuesday.

Miguel Bernal is one of two winners holding a ticket worth $153,681. The other ticket was bought in Belmont, in Northern California.

The winning numbers in Monday night's draw were 5, 7, 21, 32, and 33.

Bernal told lottery officials that he got the numbers out of a fortune cookie 10 years ago and started playing them. The winning ticket was purchased at a 7-Eleven outlet on Highland Avenue.

"I went into the store (Monday) night and the clerk told me they had sold a winning ticket," Bernal said. "They kept on telling me 'It's you!' but I said 'No way!"'

He said his son confirmed the win on the lottery's website.

Bernal, an attendant at an area Chevrolet dealership, said he plans to buy his college-age daughter a car and save the rest.

Thanks to Hosni for the tip.

5,7,21,32,33 seems like good numbers to try here on local Mass Cash. Whats good for CA is good for MA

and that all combinations are good when given a chance.

by the way a decade is only 10 years, as misstated by previous poster. i don't think i'm a record holder, but i've been playing the same megabucks comb for now 28 straight years without success. only a couple of 4-6 for short money. tons of 3-6 for free ticket or 2.00 (game revamped). yes, i play additional random combo's also but am not discouraged and have vowed to hit it or die trying...

Now that's commitment! And you never know, could be some kinda record.....

Besides, after a 28 year allegiance, I believe you're due! Yes Nod

Appears that you have got all your bases covered then, your gold is just around the corner.

Always play the same numbers...you can buy quick picks too but always have a good set of numbers. One of my friends works at that store and he is such a sweet guy. he;s been coming in for as long as I have lived here ( about 2 years). he works at Bob Baker Cheverlet and doesn't make alot of money, in fact BB started laying off a few months ago due to the decline in car sales. His daughter starts college in August and she didn't have any transportation to get to and from...now she does :)

It takes about 3-4 weeks to get a check...I won 934.00 a month ago on Daily Derby and 1000 on a Take 5 scratcher a week ago...first check came in in about 16 days...still waiting on the 2nd one.

fantasy is a good game to play, numbers are 1 thru 39 and when there isn't a winner, it rolls over the next day...7 days a week. Normally when it gets high, more people play and most times, between 3-7 people hit the jackpot. What I like about it is, if you have 2 numbers, you get a free replay for the next drawing, 3 numbers is anywhere from 14 to 18 bucks ( since it's pari-mutual) , 4 numbers gets you anywhere from 350 up to 600 bucks...I've had 4 numbers twice in April. ( 446 the 1st time, 476 the 2nd)...I play the same numbers all the time :)

If it takes 10 years with just 153 K, I would say that this is bad news. Now if it were 153 M, it would be good news.

i only buy tickets once a week on my last day of work,so each time my days off change i change ticket buying days,a few times this has resulted in having 2 tickets w/ the same nos. for the same draw,i hope that makes sense i'm talkin pick 5 here,a 7 days a wk game.funny part is if those nos. came out on that particular day it would appear to the computer that there were 2 winners ,but no 1 pers. has both tickets.

still two winners. albeit the same person will be listed in archives if you cash it. the calif pik 5 is flawed in that multiple winners must share the jackpot. mass cash for example pays out 100k 3 times if you have 3 of them every drawing. no splitting...only 35 number field instead of the prohibitive 39...
