I haven't done a thread here in years so I'm gonna give it a shot, again, in an effort to try and help people...teach people how to fish. Some of this may already be common sense, and, maybe not. The more experienced players should grasp this pretty darn easy, though. Okay, in Pick 3, the number can only be drawn in (1) of (4) formats: two evens with an odd, two odds with an even, str8 even, and str8 odd. That's it. Disregard all of the high/low stuff because they're all in the formats in the end. When playing this game, it's best to have patience and play in "cycles" because it gives the player the biggest advantage towards a win. Now, let's define what I mean by cycles. There are pre-draws in this game...as many as (5) before the official draw and every set of pre-draws followed by the officially drawn number is a cycle.
Now, numbers are already subject to change after only (1) cycling of them while they can also return in the same format. This is where playing in cycles of (2) can be very beneficial. Let's look at pairs because this is where the change occurs...and specifically in one format. Any time there are two odds or two evens drawn in the same position, back to back after (2) cycles, that pair is in season to produce a "mixed" combination...i.e. Odd_Even or Even_ Odd. Now, it can come back in the same format but, it sort of handicaps the draw method into pulling the same format after roughly (10) pre-draws and (2) official draws. Refer back to my very first sentence in this paragraph at this time for a second. With this is mind, you can see where the overall approach gives the player a reasonable advantage.
However, patience is required to be successful here. See, the formats simply shift, and, since only (2) of a kind can be drawn in any position, it pays to be patient and play on those positions for a mixed pair. Now, the opposite can also be accomplished with playing "behind" a mixed pair after (2) cycles for the result of a (2) of a kind pair...i.e. Even_Even or Odd_Odd. This isn't a guaranteed approach because we're dealing with a machine that doesn't recognize what it drew before. But, it still must do the same thing a third time in a row in order for the player to lose and this is where the advantage is.
The most common formats are OOE, EEO,EOO, and OEE. Next is OEO then EOE...and let's focus on those last two. If the most common are the first four, then that means that the last two are prone to being drawn in at least one of those formats, right? This is especially true with an EEE or OOO draw. However, back testing will still reveal that formats can be duplicated even after a cycle. This is why it's better to wait for (2) cycles. I watch the "split formats", OOO, and EEE because they must produce two of a kind, or, a mixed pair somewhere.
Alright, the next thing is recognizing the mixed pairs and what they're subjected to doing. When studying mixed pairs, I learned that there are (2) types of mixed pairs. These pairs are SEQUENTIAL and NON-SEQUENTIAL. Sequential is such as 12X, 45X while Non-Sequential is 03X, 52X and so forth. In other words, the pair of numbers are either right next to each other on the numerical scale, or, they aren't. Lots of times, sequential goes to sequential i.e. 34X to 67X. However, one can go to the other as it has no choice in the matter due to the scale if it's drawn mixed again. If it's not mixed then it's two of a kind. Very simple and I may be preaching to the choir but, I know I'm also helping somebody out there that thinks this game is really hard to play and win on. This is largely due to all of the unnecessary terminology and other things I've seen here used to produce combinations.
We're only dealing with numbers which range from 0-9 in each position...(5) of them are odd and (5) are even. combine your combinations based on what's been drawn after (2) two cycles of like formats and produce some winners. That's it...no rocket science involved and all the sophisticated terminologies can be locked away in the basement...FOREVER. I truly hope this helps someone out there to see this game from a different and better perspective...WITH HOPE.
