Powerball

Somebody in Connecticut is $60 million richer and they might not even know it yet.

CT Lottery officials announced Monday that a Powerball jackpot winning ticket from the June 23 drawing remains unclaimed. The ticket was sold in New Haven County.

The winning numbers on June 23 were 1-3-41-44-53 and a Powerball of 30.

Nationwide there were 421,685 winning tickets for the June 23 drawing. Of those, 7,953 were sold in Connecticut. One of those matched all six numbers correctly.

This latest win is the eighth Powerball jackpot win in the state and ranks as the second largest prize won in CT lottery history. In Nov. 2011, a $254.2 million jackpot was won in the state.

Lottery players have 180 days from the date of the drawing to claim a winning ticket. Saturday’s winning ticket will expire on December, 20, 2012.

Hopefully the winner was in a pool of 20 old people .

Connecticut used to NEVER reveal ANY info about the grand prize tickets until they were actually claimed or, perhaps, it was the last few weeks before the claim deadline.  For some reason, they changed that policy in the past few months.

Yeah too bad we didn't know the guy who "fixes" the balls on drawing nite, could slip him a Benjamin, to make that happen one more time in CT.  Wink

They are probably upset because they won, and realize that they live in the State with the highest taxes!

It wasn't me.  lol

I scoured the whole place sunday because I had a hefty beer night last friday and couldn't remember if I bought a ticket at the package  store.

Spent all of monday with people at work asking if it was me  lol

1 - 3 - 41 - 44 - 53 + 30.

Now them there's some different numbers.

Them's the kind you get on a Quick Pick and say, "Ah, sh*t!"

Definitely wasn't me, but the disappointing feeling was all too familiar! I have this habit of checking this site first to see if anyone won -- and where -- instead of just checking my numbers. It was pretty much the same deal as November 2011: 'Jackpot winner in Connecticut!' I jump up, run to get my tickets and return with lost breath, only to have what little of it I have yanked out of me. Then the tears start.. well, not really.

Congratulations to the the winner(s), though. The ticket was bought in New Haven, which was somewhat surprising. I hope they're smart with their money and enjoy every second after that nice deposit!

You have a better chance of winning the lotto, then not getting shot in New Haven.

You just have to stay out of the Democrat areas.

I believe all players in the winning state get super excited. When I see "Jackpot winner in Illinois," which rarely happens, I think "Could it really be?!" Then I check my ticket and reality kicks in. No, it wasn't.
