15th-largest US jackpot ever; 6th-largest cash value
By Todd Northrop
For only the 15th time in the history of United States lotteries, a lottery jackpot run-up has crossed into $300 million+ territory.
The new high-water mark of $305 million for the current Powerball jackpot was achieved after no winning tickets were sold for Saturday night's $253 million grand prize.
The lump-sum cash payout value of Wednesday's Powerball jackpot is $203.3 million. After-tax cash and annuity prize amounts are reported state-by-state on the Jackpot Analysis page at USA Mega, a web site devoted to the Powerball and Mega Millions multi-state lottery games.
Players should note that jackpot amounts are conservative estimates provided by the lotteries, and are often somewhat higher by the time the drawing occurs.
The mammoth prize is the result of 14 draws without a winner. The run-up started as a $40 million prize on June 27, 2012.
The winning numbers for Saturday, August 11, 2012 were 4, 13, 39, 46, and 51, with Powerball number 1.
Even though nobody won the jackpot Saturday, 5 lucky players matched the first 5 numbers for a $1,000,000 prize: 5 lucky players matched the first 5 numbers for a $1,000,000 prize: 2 from Florida, 1 from New Jersey, 1 from North Carolina, and 1 from Pennsylvania.
None of the second prize winners had purchased the Power Play option for an extra $1, which would have increased their second prize win to $2 million.
66 tickets matched four white numbers plus the Powerball and won $10,000. Of those tickets, 4 were purchased with the Power Play option, increasing the prize to $40,000.
Following the Saturday drawing, the Powerball annuity jackpot estimate was raised $52 million from its previous amount of $253 million. The cash value was raised by $32.8 million from its previous amount of $170.5 million.
When a Powerball ticket is purchased with the Power Play option for an extra $1 per ticket, any non-jackpot prize is increased according to a fixed prize schedule, which can be found on the Powerball Drawing Detail page at USA Mega, as well as on the Powerball Prize Payouts page at Lottery Post.
Powerball is now played in 42 states, plus the District of Columbia and the U.S. Virgin Islands. Drawings are Wednesdays and Saturdays at 11:00 p.m. Eastern Time. Tickets cost $2 each.
Powerball lottery results are published within minutes of the drawing at USA Mega (www.usamega.com). The USA Mega Web site provides lottery players in-depth information about the United States's two biggest multi-state lottery games, Mega Millions and Powerball.
Top 25 United States lottery jackpots of all time
Wednesday's Powerball jackpot currently stands as the 15th-largest lottery jackpot of all time in the United States. That position may rise before the drawing Wednesday night, as lotteries are typically conservative in their initial estimates, and brisk sales may push the jackpot estimate higher by draw time.
If nobody wins Wednesday, it's anyone's guess how high it will go.

Top 20 cash value jackpots
Since many lottery winners collect their winnings in cash, the lump-sum payout is an important measure of what a winning ticket could be worth.
Looking at the cash value, the upcoming Powerball jackpot is even better than the annuity, ranking as the sixth-largest cash value in U.S. history.

I'll buy my ticket for Wed, wish me luck
PowerBall is finally in the range it was designed for, MegaMillion will just have to sat on the sideline until this run is over.
I'm tempted to drop $60 on this one but experience informs me that its not a guarantee that I will win much with that kind of purchase so $9 is all I'm spending. Good luck players.
Now Powerball is finally getting exciting to play. I now have the urge to splurge on this game! Instead of 1 or 2 tickets I will probably buy a total of 5!
POWERBALL WINNER WILL BE ME THIS WEDNESDAY!!!!!!!!!
POWERBALL IF YOUR WATCHING THIS SET THE TERMINALS TO HIT PAINESVILLE, OHIO
Thanks in advance for my winning jack-pot ticket!
LOL
The temptation to spend more is haunting me too. Thank god tho, they made POWERBALL $2.00 otherwise I'd prob spend $20-30 bucks on this game at the current jackpot prize level but that extra dollar keeps me in check and actually helps me budget to spend less.
I went crazy and spent $127 when Mega Millions got over 600 MILLION and I never spend more than $5-$10 per game EVER when it's below $300 MILLION.
With that money I'd start a part-time professional drag raging team (Full time if I land a sponsor). Well that, and I would arrange to finance a photoshoot of my favorite UK glamour models in my house for a week.
I am buying tickets in three states!!!
I took some time off from playing and it looks like I'm coming back to the game just in time.
I'll be looking to spend a lil more than $6 come Wednesday.
I dropped $35 on that MegaMillions jackpot and won absolutely nothing. I was so mad!
I bought a $6 Powerball ticket for last night drawing, and I won $4 for a total loss of $2. My coworkers did a powerball pool for last night drawing. They bought like 50 tickets for a zero return. I was not included in the pool. They also collected the money for Wednesday drawing , and they did not ask me to participate. Good luck to them.
@ maringoman
well the powerball jackpot just became very very very interesting
well good luck to those playing but I think we're gonna watch it roll over once more b4 b4 it gets hit in VA
Here we go.......
Good luck everybody!
Hoping for Texas to have her first PB winner! Me!
$305M+
You should demand to be allowed in the pool in case they win.
Then you can sue them for some kind of discrimination and have swarms of slimy, squirming, slithering lawyers descend on them and envelope them in an undulating, squirming, writhing, slithering ball of slime.
And become very rich.
Along with the lawyers.
Ha! That's the status quo for office pools.
The last office pool I was in was for the big MM - two draws worth. I normally don't do pools, hate them with a passion. On the 2nd draw, one gal out of the office of 25 was on vacation.. I paid her $1 to get her in the draw. No, I didn't get it back either. Whatever.
LOL......Don't care for lawyers much either rdgrnr?? People have offered to "let" me join their lottery pool before and it's about all I can do to not laugh at them.
I think I'll splurge this month and purchase one ticket. Maybe, not sure yet.
My rule of thimb is that I play 10% of the amount of millions.
For a 20 million dollar jackpot, I play $2, or in this case 2 picks.
For a 200 million dolar jackpot, I play $20.
For a 300 million dollar jackpot, I play $30; so on and so on.
I have several slips that are already filled out and numbered 1-4 which are ranked in importance. For a 10 million dollar jackpot I will play 1 & 2.
I'm sure that you can see the pattern and there is no need to over explain, but believe in playing the same numbers over and over it increases my chances of hitting the jackpot.
Of course I also play a few extra Easy Picks or Quick Picks. You never know.
The balloon is still swelling! Somebody is going to be very rich soon. Sucks to be an Alabamian - I may just win. On paper.
I'd be gettin' over to Georgia or up to Tennessee if I was you and at least get one multi-draw ticket for as many draws as you can get in case it keeps rollin' for a while.
Hell, you're just as likely to win as anybody else.
keep your cool people, remeber the chance to win isnt significantly increased buying 2 tickets or 100, keep some powder dry incase it jackpots.
You seem very ordered and regimened and disciplined - until we get to your last sentence and realize that you're just like the rest of us, LOL.
I'm holding on tightly for this joy ride. Don't want it to be over for a few more weeks!
Nah, they ain't my favorite kinda people.
Lawyers got a nasty habit of takin' all my houses and givin' 'em to all my ex-wives.
Alimony, alimony
I thought I bought steak
And it was all baloney
Me oh my, oh goodness sakes
I'm payin' for my mistakes
Same old song
With a little more blues in it
I'm payin' for it
While someone else is usin' it
Me oh my, oh goodness sakes
I'm payin' for my mistakes
~ Bobby Bare
Go for it! Dare to dream! Spend the two bucks with reckless abandon and a swashbuckling devil-may-care attitude!
Yep, too bad I have no way to get to Georgia or Tennessee since I am without a car at the moment. But one day, I'll be going over to play.
Really need to expand the variety of headline titles...
In reference to Cash 5, it clearly states on the ticket you can win ten dollars on just two numbers until the end of August. I have two tickets rejected that this is not a winning ticket. It states every one in ten tickets are winners. Tried to cash them in, the machine rejected them as winning tickets Tried to email the lottery no response!
Three states? Such as Mental State , Natural State , ANd State of Confusion? I've been there , Good luck and may you cash in!
I've been to all those states, nice places to visit but wouldn't want to...........
Greyhound goes to Chattanooga.
I want as many people as possible kickin' in to my jackpot.
"Would I trade all this free time for camera time....Will I blow all this money baby HAMMER TIME.. I just need some closure, ain't no turning back for me I'm in it till it's over!"
DRAKE
" I will let you guys know when I win the jackpot on Wednesday."
Be sure to try to buy your tickets in a state that allows for some degree of confidentiality if you win. DC does so I willl not be buying my tickets in VA. While I would rather see VA profit from any win, it would not be worth it if I won.
I also woke up with 5 numbers running through my head (which is odd) but I am sure they will be as successful as that fortune cookie lottery #s. Maybe I should buy 2 tickets with the same number (different PB #s) so if I win 2nd place, I can have 2 x more.
You should drop another 4$ and get the free ticket.
Will it go to 400 Million if it rolls over.LOL
Depending on how brisk the sales go, it should get close. Realistically if it rolls once more, more like $375-375 million would be my guess.
In 2 rolls yes. So, the Wednesday after this one. I think everybody who usually buys tickets are already in it. So, it can't grow faster.
By the time it hits 500, people who usually buy tickets will go broke and will borrow from their relatives.
By the time it will hit 600, our neighbors from Canada will come to visit us more ofter.
By the time it will hit 700, we will see the same 3 asset managers, who somehow managed to buy $2 ticket for one dollar. They will bring money to the person who audits power ball drawings as reward for his/her hard work.
Your crystal ball appears to be working just fine tvboris! I for one, believe all your predictions will come to pass.
Just spend $10.00 going to buy $ 30.00 for Wednesday.
Ka-Ching $$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$
$152,475,000 in the bank if you win in Pennsylvania ................ I will mitigate the rest of the Federal Taxes ............ by the way, $50,825,000 to $71,155,000 in taxes is a mighty fair share!
the powerball should roll right into my bank account baby ....................
good luck to all ........................
HAHAHAHA! That reminds me of a comedian that said....Instead of getting married again I'm just going to go out and find a woman I don't like and buy her a house.
You spent $6????
I am SO disappointed in you. Thats $5 too many!!! You cant seem to practice what you preach!!!
You have a job and a pool? And you didnt ask to join? WOW...you are also a fool.
Maybe they did not ask you because you are a wretched miser (no offense intended), and they thought your PEF was lacking.
BTW Good LUck!! Congrats on your win!!!
IF it rolls, it will be $422m. <-- based upon 30% roll increase in cash value from last night and the current 62.4% cv of the annuity. Cash value will be $263.8m.
Ain't gonna happen. I've got the winning number on my filled out slip. Sorry y'all. Better luck next time.
You're pretty and smart!
I play the lottery according to my signature. I usually buy a single line, but I also buy multiple tickets when I feel like. I asked the pool organizer to let me join. She told me that it was too late because they already collected and bought the tickets for Wednesday. She said that she will give me something if they won. I said no Thank you and wished them good luck.
I did not win because I spent $6 and won $4 for a $2 loss.
I can not wait to go to the Bellagio and get in a Villa and fly by leer jet too. Eat steak and drink crystal or maybe dom perignon. Yes it is going to be awesome then it is alcohol and booty calls the rest of the time I am their. Whoooo hooo!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!-weshar75
$305 million sounds good to me
I hear ya weshar! Party on my brother!
Turning $10 into $305 Millions is a great return on investment.
Thank you, but not so much smart, really... I'm an accountant. Numbers are... facinating...
Bellagio! The Wynn would be a good one to stay at, too. Either one is good for a luxury property. Both are full of old people though. LOL. Caesar's Palace or MGM are the way to go.
Yeah weshar, I can see it now:
I want to go there too!
Do the pool members know the pool organizer is telling co-workers that didn't contribute that they will get something if the pool wins?
Must be somewhere in the bylaws, terms and conditions, full disclosure, and agreement to pay pool members who don't contribute forms.
I have been wanting to go for a while now. So when I win on wednesday night I can finally go!-weshar75
Yeah but you gotta spend $10, so that would never happen.
The current cash value of $203.3 milion is 66.66% of the anuity value. A 30% increase would bring it to $264.3 million. If that cash value remains 66.66% of the annuity value the advertised annuity jackpot will be $396.5 million. If that's the range MUSL thinks is reasonable they might just advertise it as an even 400, since that will probably create a much bigger frenzy than 396.5, even though they're practically the same amount.
Wow if i win this am going to finally be able to marry one of the deal or no deal models or a miss universe beauty contestant from as far as the south or north pole only if they sign a 30yrs marriage warranty and take a polygrapgh test to ensure they are not too crazy or have murder mystery ideas or watch too much CSI. lol
And i will take the 30yrs annuity to ensure the marriage last that long too and she doesnt run away with my money . lol
How about if she commences to nonstop yap yap yappin' and it's you that wants to run away?
It happens, believe me.
Well her prenup will be worth only 30million over 30yrs or 1million over one year. if the marriage deteriorates bellow a c class marriage a devorce will be activated but she can only keep a percentage of time she commited on her remaining 1million annual value. for example if she stays for ten yrs that is 33 percent of 30yrs so she will still get only 33 percent of what she has left which is 33 percent of 20million which is 6.6 million balance back and her remaining 13million will be offered to a new wife replacement to complete her default or me not being happy with good reason. my home will have 24hr video survelance so all good and bad will be properly preserved for a reasonable judge to see. so i can't end the marriage unless she is really really crazy and if that is the case then there should be a video tape .And it will be a fun and trouble free marriage if any of us breaks that rule or cheats or fight there will be a one million dollar fine for first offense another one million for second offense and automatic divorce after three strikes you out. lol
Good luck!
If you want to buy a wife, you might as well get a foreign mail order bride.
l don't have anything against mail order bride if am happy and she is happy then deal am a gambler and risk taker.I will proccess all my aplicants from all 93 countries online and interview all of them via webcam as to where they are from is not my issue . if google earth can locate you i can send a helicopter to pick you up. Am not looking for real love but fun love . l just want to be happy like trump and all l want is my own milano cookie . if you call it buying a wife fine but i don't call it that . its more intense and complex l call it lets make a deal for two in paradise lol
Oops, my bad. I was using the numbers from the 2/17 draw (the last $300m+ drawing) for my calculation. You are right here. The only thing is assuming the next rollover increase would be 30% since the last was only about 19%. I'd venture to guess that it's likely to be more than 19%, but the rollover increases have been a lot lower since the $2 ticket came into affect.
Good catch Floyd.
Practically the same amount? Are you kidding me, here is 3.5 mil we are talking about. I would gladly keep the change between the two and will never even think again about playing.
Though I understand, this is all in comparison to to the amount itself, but believe me those guys won't give you any single dollar for free.
I know I might sound crazy, but sometimes when I don't win even $4 for while, I get to think that they falsify the game to the degree that they pick the numbers for lower payout even for the lowest prizes.
I'd like to win just enough to retire, while away my days in the garden.
No more racing around, no more watching the clock, just the simple life. I'm tired.
women boats and planes are cheaper to rent.
and super cars, maybe i would keep the C300. and join here for my speed addiction.

You deserve the luck
Okay, you statistics experts. What's the probability of a roll this time? The probability of one, two or three winners?
73% probability of rollover. 86% chance of one winner. 53% chance of two winners. 6.535% chance of three winners. 99% chance of this is all B.S.
I AM THINKING SMALL.
I bought a $10 Powerball ticket and received a free $2 Powerball ticket with it.
I will not mind winning at least $10k.
Good luck everybody.
I'm right there with you sully. I'm so tired of the grind. Saturday was brutal.
It was uplifting to watch the Rangers take the Tigers.... LOL. Sorry.
Good luck to your thinking small THRIFTY! Speaking for myself, I'm thinking much BIGGER!!!
LOL, Another thing I miss, not enough time for baseball.
It is time for some very serious retirement!
The increase requires selling about 54 million tickets. If all combinations were chosen randomly that would use about 52 million combinations. There would be about a 69% chance of a rollover, a 29% chance of a single winner and a 1% chance of multiple winners.
Since not all selections are random there's a higher chance of a rollover. About 16 million of those tickets will be self picks, and a lot of them will use birthday numbers or patterns. As a very wild guess I'll figure that there are at perhaps 5 million more duplicates than if it was all random, but those duplicates will be from a relatively small set of combinations. That would mean that somewhere around 48 million combinations are in play.
It may have been pure luck, but mcginnin's figure of 73% is pretty close to the mark.
Everyone back off; that $305 million lottery prize is MINE. When I win, I'm going to party like a rock star, because no lottery winner ever loses their lottery prize...

Than you for confirming my figures however. Coming from a fellow cerebral such as yourself, is quite the honor indeed!
Is that a Perdue or Tyson chicken?
Neither Stang. Only USDA Prime, Dry, Aged Beef Will do! This jackpot demands only the best. Chicken is for 2nd tier prize wannabee's.
Our truest lives are when we are in our dreams awake. Thy will be done on Earth as it is in Heaven.
To be certain, the MegaMillions is at a sweet enough pot for me. I could think of nothing finer than to hit the jackpot tomorrow night, then have one of my neighbors hit the PowerBall Wednesday and take all the media attention for me.
Not that I'll not be unhappy to win Wednesday night.
I was thinking along the same lines.Let me win the Mega Millions & I'll wait until somebody snags the Powerball before claiming my win.The Powerball winner can have the media camping on their lawn while I fade away into obscurity.
Thanks. (And thanks to mcginnin, too.) Oh, I'm glad to see that the chance of a rollover is so great. Not that I'd particularly care in the unlikely event that I should capture the jackpot - a much smaller sum would suit me just fine. But I have to admit I enjoy the craziness of the huge jackpots!
Hi the bought $10.00 today up so far $20.00 , the lady said play has be brisk today, lots of pools playing happy days are here. LOL good luck.
The thing that I actually hate when it gets this high is that, when I wake up the morning of each drawing, I actually think I can win it. For some reason my mind feels the need to think it's a winner just because nobody else has won in a long time.
Lol still recovering from buying 600 Megamillions tickets .
IT'S OKAY TO PLAY THE LOTTERY TO WIN A JACKPOT SOMEDAY.
ALL YOU NEED IS A LOTTERY TICKET AND A DREAM.
BUY 1 LOTTERY TICKET SOMEDAY. GOOD LUCK.
You always say that.
Then afterwards you say you bought $20 worth.
Why you all the time be doin' like that?
New here. Since the jackpot is over 300 million, thought I'd post and share.
Just bought my tickets for this Wednesday's $305 million drawing. Got 500 lines, so $1,000 worth. $2 per line.
I obviously don't normally play this much for a drawing but I feel lucky and the high jackpot amount got me to open the wallet. I'm probably a fool but I REALLY want to win this jackpot. What's the old saying, "You can't win if you don't play" or something like that.
About $150,000,000 after taxes sounds good to me. I'd buy a lakefront mansion, a fleet of fancy cars, vacations to maui, fiji, bahamas, etc... I might even look into buying a gulfstream jet in the range of $5-10 million (used) And I would donate to charities as well.
I have seen past winners go broke so I have planned against that when I win. I will spend a few million right off the bat to get it "out of my system" and then put the rest in tax free bonds and have it managed with a private bank of professional money managers whom I'm sure would roll out the red carpet for a client like me with over $100 million in cash.
I wish you all luck but at the same time REALLY hope the winner this Wednesday is me.
Its going roll 4 more times.
Welcome to Lottery Post, hotslot3, and thanks for donating to my pot!
How do you know? Don't tell me, that you've seen sneak peak of the video with the winner.
lol $1000 dollars!!! I feel I am spending too much when I buy two (as opposed to my normal one). I would buy fewer tickets and get the powerplay vs 500 $2 tickets.
I am always aiming for the second prize anyway.
Best of luck to you hotslot. Welcome to LP!
There have been many members on this site who have "invested" similar amounts and more, when jackpots started climbing into the stratosphere.
I'm certainly not going to discourage you from making that wager, I admire your willingness to put that much on the line.
To my knowledge however, I don't remember any of those members getting much of anything for hits, it was pretty much a big goose egg.
As long as your able to lose it all, without any financial repercussions, you should be just fine.
It's just the morning after making such a bet, that can be bittersweet if nothing becomes of it.
I'm glad I'm not that crazy yet. On the other hand, if you can spend $1000 on tickets, why would you want a jackpot win?
On the other hand, somehow I doubt in the trustworthiness of this post. As if it was true, you'd know that for $1000 you'd get 600 lines in august.
Another thought, are you a lottery agent, who wants to instigate enormous sales by showing what to spend to the bunch of lottery addicts?
$2 per line x 500 tickets = $1000 He/she did not get powerplay so the math is right.
Go with the brand new gulfstream jet. You only live once. Then you can be fly like a G6.
is it only in NY this month we are getting free extra ticker per 5?
That's actually the Gulf-Stream G650 not the G6, and you can own one for as little as $58 million.
(Not including pilot, co-pilot, fuel, insurance, hanger and storage fees, maintenance and upkeep, which can all run another $1-2 million annually).
let me guess, you're over the age of 50, right?
You don't have to guess whiteballz, just take a look at my profile!
Meowwwww...It sounds like someone who knows his planes. Age is not relevant.
McGinnin: Why do you put that specific info online? Birthdays are often security question related for accounts. I never give out my info.
Idiots come in all assorted shapes, sizes, colors, sexes and ages.
Thanks mcginnin!
Yes, to all of you who question I really did buy $1,000 worth of tickets. 500 lines worth at $2 a pop. It's a gamble but nothing ventured nothing gained as they say. Yes, I take it for what it is, a gamble. Some people go to vegas for the weekend and blow thousands. In fact, $1,000 really isn't that much. Like I said, I don't normally play this amount on tickets but the jackpot also hasn't been this high in about 6 months or so. It's worth a shot! You never know, Wednesday just might be my lucky day. If I don't hit it maybe it will roll again and there's always next time.
Thanks again for the welcome mcginnin. You too rdgrnr!
Other than my age, if someone is looking to hack into one of my accounts....more power to them. Life is to short to be worrying 24/7.
so if someone said they owned an AK and didn't specify they owned an AK-47 they are wrong? I knew about the Gulfstream G650, I just didn't want to type the whole thing out and I was also trying to make a reference to a song, "Fly like a G6" by Far East Movement.
Your welcome hotslot!, please let us know how you fare......if you dare.
Nope, not crazy. Just REALLY want to win! Just because I can spend $1,000 doesn't mean I don't want or need a jackpot win. More money is always good, especially for big boy (and girl) toys, my friend.
Unless my eyes and mind are playing tricks on me then the 500 lines of tickets I bought today are very real. There was no promotion in my area for 600 lines at $1,000 The clerk at the store I bought them from even kissed the pile of tickets before handing them to me and wished me good luck. I will need it. LOL You never know!
Never said you were wrong whiteballz. But when referring to a sophisticated aircraft that just came out, calling it a G6 is misleading to anyone
in the Aviation field. I'm sure you know everything there is about this aircraft, including climb rates, top air-speeds, range, cargo capacity, etc, so
I apologize if you were offended in any way.
well, ok. Good luck to you then. Maybe you are right about Vegas too.
You've inspired me, I think I'm gonna go and spend $400 on tickets now.
Yes, no powerplay on my 500 tickets. I'm only interested in the jackpot prize. If I cared about the 2nd million dollar prize there are other games I could have played with better odds for less money. Though If I miss the jackpot prize by one number I will gladly take the million!!
I'm thinking a new SLR mercedes would look nice parked outside my home to make the neighbors drool. LOL
You spent that money on June 18 of last year! I like your time machine.
Well if you can afford it , great! I hope no one spends $1000 unless they own their own homes, have 6 months emergency funds in the bank and decent retirement savings for their age. I do but I still can't bring myself to spend a few more dollars. I would cringe at $20.
Careful Artist, don't want to be giving out to much personal information. Now if we could just get your home address, maybe someone could figure out
how to get into your 6 months emergency funds.
Listen, I'm not encouraging anyone to go and spend more than they can afford to lose. Only spend what you can afford to lose and also laugh about if you win nothing. Don't go and spend the milk money. I could afford to spend $1,000 I wanted to spend it and so I made the gamble and did.
Having said that, the jackpot hasn't been this high in about 6 months and a jackpot this large and life changing doesn't come around every day. $150,000,000 after taxes would change anyone's life more than they could possibly understand, unless one is very wealthy already.
I have my fingers crossed for Wednesday!
Way to go hotslot! I'll cross my fingers for you as well.
Don't you know this jackpot is coming to Oregon. Silly little rabbit trix are for kids!!!!!!!-weshar75
dude, don't be upset. I seriously wish you luck and just a bit jelous. To be honest, hunting the lotteries lately i spent not much less, but little by little.
no offence taken, just trying to make a joke is all
Thanks mcginnin!
I have my fingers AND toes crossed. Well, my fingers, I'm still workin' on being able to do it with ALL my toes. LOL
If you're in this drawing for Wednesday and hit the jackpot I will be very happy for you. Whatever you do, don't go broke like a lot of other lottery winners (losers) have. But something tells me you're too smart to be that frivilous anway.
Point taken whiteballz. Seriously though, if you win this one, can you give me a quick ride in your Gulf-Stream!!!
Already got my tic's, wild horses couldn't hold me back on this joy ride!!!
Hopefully, I'm at least half as smart as you are.
I think I'm going to sit this one out. I prefer mega millions myself. Good luck to you on Powerball if you decide to play.
Whoops!.........somebody better break the bad news to hotslot.
how many lines did you get mcginnin?
Any plans on how you would invest the money should by some miracle you win? It could happen.
Just three. One self pick, two QP's.
I've been making plans for quite some time now. From the time I find out, my elaborate spending and investment plans will be unleashed.
I am waiting until wednesday when the ticket frenzy is at an all time high. Then I stroll into to Circle K on third street here in Mcminnville, Oregon and fill out a play slip so that idiot behind the counter doesn't ruin my powerball ticket. Two lines my pick and one line QP all with powerplay for a total of $9 spent on this jackpot. Wish me luck!!!!!!!!!!!!-weshar75
If you're smart (and it sounds like you are) you could invest the money to setup your family for generations and never run out of money. At least not for several hundred years anway. The interest alone would conservatively net you around $4-5 million a year without ever having to touch the principal. That's more than some of the best doctors and lawyers make a year. You would literally be the 1% of the 1%
hey, I'm playing local Take 5 in NY today for 5 lines. If I win the first prize, which is $57,000, it will get me though playing for a long time.
If, I don't win, I already have 5 lines for Mega Millions on Tuesday.
If, I don't win, I already have 5 lines for Power Ball on Wednesday.
My predictions to win: Free play on Take 5, then $2 on Mega Millions and Second Prize on Powerball.
I don't mind if all of you get the jackpot and split 1000 ways, as long as I have my Second Prize.
There is enough second prizes so I can have my two million here in Oregon and you still get paid too! Good luck!-weshar75
I'm just curious, if anyone of you guys and gals get the jackpot, will you come here back to tell us this or you'll just disappear?
noooooooooooooo but I won't disappear either.
Don't get me started on the "idiots' behind the counter" Yes, some of them can be nice and wish you "good luck" but I've had my share of clerks who give you the stink eye or smirk, looking at you like your're a fool to play the lottery. Yes, the lottery may have silly odds but it's also buying into the dream of winning. And it's no worse than throwing money away on other garbage the convenience stores sell. Besides, I'm not the one working behind the counter in a convenience store either. LOL
That's a nice thought, if I want to support several generations of my family.
My plans are a little more aggressive however. I will be definitely be spending a LOT more of the principal!
My future family members must know what it's like to work hard, go to school, and earn their own way in life. Nothing to be given on a silver platter.
so, you'll be like the rest of us here, praying for the jackpot?
I agree. However, I would still set aside a sizeable amount for them to live on. In this economy and especially if the Mr. O is re-elected there might not be much of an economy or jobs left in the country no matter your education. Best bet is to buy a business or franchise and have them work there.
Pray and believe and you SHALL receive! Faith is all we have! God can create miracles if you believe in him.
Just got back from my favorite shop with 4000 tickets.Lets win this thing people.
Who is this question being directed to? You didn't hit the reply button.
I thought I was being bold and daring with a $1,000 gamble. I wish you luck my friend. Hope you didn't spend more than you can afford to lose.
Best of luck!
yea, sorry. It was for Artist77. About coming back here and holding the truth back about jackpot.
They gave you all the losing tickets from the last drawing.
Nope. But in a couple days your statement will be true.
LOL!
I hope you powerplayed some of them for the $2 million second prize. Just saying! Good luck!-weshar75
Show us the picture, we want to see the evidence. Also, were they self picked? LOL
Hmmmm......maybe I'll get a few of those Hooters restaurants, I've heard they have great chicken wings and grasshoppers!
Your fast on your feet!
is the thing of this size still called a grasshopper?
I know this powerball is all the talk right now...but there are some other decent jackpots out there right now in some of the bigger state lotteries. With better odds to boot.
The most I've ever won is $20,000 on a scratcher a few years back. Not life changing but still exciting just to win it.
It's considered one of Hooters "mini"-grasshoppers. The larger ones are kept in a corral in the rear of the building.
Congrat's! Very nice prize.
Thanks. I ended up with less than $20,000 after they took out taxes though.
I never play more than one line, and don't even do PowerPlay. I think when I go buy a ticket tomorrow I'm going to buy a few more lines...not sure how many, though. Being a broke college student makes it painful to dish away money on such a thing, but the dreams/fantasies more than make up for it. Man do I wish I had $1,000 to gamble!
That's the spirit. Don't play more than you can afford to lose. Keep your powder dry. If it rolls again it will be something like $200 million after taxes for Saturday's draw. You would literally have to try HARD to ever go broke with that much money. I'm talking about making the redneck hillbilly david edwards look like a conservative spender. LOL
Not sure about other states, but here in NY the next thing after PowerBall and MM, is Lotto, which is 8 Millions, where the odds are not so much better. While here in PB the second prize is at more favorable odds, then any decent local lottery.
This switch for 2 dollars a play, I'm thinking, very soon will make jackpots like this a usual thing. Unless Mega Millions will change to 2 dollars some time soon, once their sales will not be as high as in PB to even it out.
After all, PB does make more people millioners now with their second prizes. Even though, technically, after taxes it is not really a million, but still it fells like it.
Haha, believe me, I know. I'm only 21, trying to check out of life early! My father has taught me to be responsible with money, and with that, I always have been. I'd never blow those winnings.
You might try hitting up hotslot, I hear he has deep pockets!
Smart man at such a young age! I hope you win someday, even if your ship doesn't come in on Wednesday, it could be just around the corner!
Cheers to you my friend. I only started playing back in March when MM was 600+ million. It's very fun.
Good luck !
Sometimes you will read about a winner who doesn't normally play who won the jackpot. However, most stories I read of winners are people who have played at least 5 years or more. Hang in there and keep playing. Somebody has to win, might as well be one of us, right?
So, will anyone of you come here again and tell us that he/she won the jackpot, if that happens?
No.
Mr. Ridge. It could be one $2 ticket, one $10 ticket or one $20 ticket when it comes to playing powerball. Man those singular words tend to confuse us sometime.
You know a $2 ticket, a $10 ticket, a $20 ticket etc. Good luck.
You so crazy!
I honestly don't think that I would remember to post back here.
I prob would come in and tell. i may not read or reply yo private mails. and id say good bye to hotmail and gmail accounts. but sure i would.
beggars are what gated communities and lawyers are for. no need for personal correspondence with them.
if someone here posted they won the jackpot. Would you believe them? What if the winner refused to go have a press conference or have their name released? I mean, if I said a week from now, "Hi guys! I won the jackpot!" I could only imagine the reactions I'd get.
I ran a Powerball simulator this morning. It took me 78 simulated years (a few minutes in real life) and I lost almost $8000 in net value. And I hit no more than three numbers a few dozen times and that was the highest hits I could get, in 78 simulated years.
$8000 in 78 years? Is this with the price of the tickets staying $2 the entire time?
how did that work? Was it 1 line for each draw and then randomly produced 6 numbers matched to the next 6 randomly produced numbers?
In order to get accurate result you need to use two completelly different random generators. And probably not 1 line, but at least couple of them, after all odds are 175mil.
With the same rate succes you can match real drawings from previous to the next.
And btw, 78years*52weeks*2draws*$2 = $16224 of total budget spend, and with that loosing only 8 grand for fun over the course of life is not that bad. Didn't you know that we are all playing this game just for fun?
Yea, you are right. Most likely nobody would believe, i dind't think about that part.
I think so.
I have a feeling Powerball tickets aren't going to stay $2 the entire 78 years. I'd actually bet the tickets will go up in price to $4 in 15 years. They already got people paying twice what it was last year, so the genie is out of the bottle.
Holly cow, in those days with $4 there will be jackpots of around 2-3 billion dollars and US dept 623 gazillion of chinese yuan.
Our grandchildren will be pushing daisies by then. With global nuclear wars on the brink, this world as we know it could well be vanquished.
Perhaps by then aliens may have bought the rights to our lottery games, and those seeds of greed planted throughout the cosmos.
I only buy one ticket because of the cost, I'd rather buy two MM tickets, rather than one PB.
If I win the $305M, I can't help but think about asking out my celebrity crush. You feel me?
Can you blame me?
This will be the view from my new back porch!
Retiring in style! $$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$
and a FlexJet Card for those vacations ...............
That will help your putter swing better "golfer''.just watch out for those sand trapps..
You have a 50% chance of winning the lottery. You either win or you lose.
Where is this vacation home. I want to add it to my list.
Do you know anyone who wins 50% of the times they play? Where did you learn to calculate percentages?
Following that superior logic and line of reasoning, it must therefore be possible to win 100% of the time, or lose 100% of the time.
I therefore choose to win 100% of the time. Thanks for the steering me in the right direction THRIFTY!
lmao, that's life... one big gamble
Once the shock wore off I would post i won doesn't mean anyone will believe me guess i will have to put a little hint in the interview so you know it's me lol
Jackpot is up too $320 Million annuity and $213.3 million Cash
Guess my $1,000 gamble the other day helped push it higher. It should be even higher than that by Wednesday night.
NO.....I don't think anyone should be praying for jackpot unless they are about to lose their home or have catastrophic medical expenses, etc. I think God had better things to do than help someone buy an expensive car and other luxury items. I have a good job so I view this all as entertainment. I will save my prayers for something more serious.
ewwwww That woman is disgusting.....I saw one episdode of that "sex and the city" and it must have been the most raunchy episode ever. I don't even see how someone can play a character like that!
Ouch again golfer!!!
Here's another band-aid for you.
lol lol
Thats one way of looking at it.....
I wonder if your co-workers are trying to tell you something?
I noticed that some lottery players were spending $10 for a 5 lines ticket to get a free single line on powerball in new York. They could have spent $20 for a 10 lines ticket and gotten a free single ticket with 2 lines on it. You still have the same chances of winning though.
$20 Powerball ticket with 10 lines Versus two $10 Powerball tickets with 5 lines each?
I prefer the $20 Powerball ticket with 10 lines for convenience, if I'm spending $20 on Powerball.
