  What is a 'whammy' for you?

  By that I mean kind of like a jinx, but not exactly. Not exactly mystical, not exactly superstitious, either.

  One for me is playing the same set of numbers on two different games, it seems they just 'cancel' each other out and never result in any kind of payoff.

  What's yours?

  Those who run the lotteries love it when players look for consistency in something that's designed not to have any. So many systems, so many theories, so few jackpot winners. 

  

  There is one and only one 'proven' system, and that is to book the action. No matter the game, let the players pick their own losers.

  When some dingbat broad runs my playslips and doesn't call me darlin'.

  Or when the terminal doesn't take the playslip the first time she runs it.

  Makes me wanna grab the nearest liberal and wring his neck out like a Sham-Wow.

  Always going with "the other option" when the first one would have been right whether it be deciding between two numbers, even/odd, low/high, etc etc
