I read the story but it seems as if it was sorta swept under the rug with some lame excuse from the lottery officials and governor.
Was it truely investigated? It seems it wasnt to me.
They blamed it on software glitch, blamed it on the clerk pushing a repeat button, blamed it on an enormous amount of tickets being purchased, blamed it on the moon whatever.. but Im not buying any of it. So what was the final conclusion anyways? Was there an update to the story and I missed it? Did I miss something?
Here is what I think. I think the retailer computers have been giving out many duplicate tickets for years but no one ever would know because some guy buys tickets while getting his morning coffee while another buys tickets some time during the afternoon yet another buys tickets after work and so on.. yet how would any of them ever know if another got the same numbers the other got? They wouldnt. How would you know if some women in a city 200 miles away in the same state got the same numbers you got? You wouldnt.
So the women goes in buys $145 dollars worth of tickets all at one time and gets duplicate tickets, they say it was because she bought so many yet others have bough thousands of tickets and its never happened.
Yet I think it does happen all the time like imagine one person not buying all the tickets but instead if 145 different people at different times of the day had walked into the store and got a ticket at different times of the day. I think some of them would have duplicate tickets but none of the individual people would even know because none of them know each other. Its just another busy day at 7-11 no one checks the ticket the person gets before or after you. I mean how many times have you ever checked the ticket of the person who bought one right before you did? Hardly ever if at all. So how would you know if the person before you got a ticket with the same exact numbers that you get after him. You wouldnt? Unless you track him down in the parking lot and ask to compare his ticket with yours. I think its been going on for years and no one has ever caught it till now.
I also know that the lottery has made mistakes on their website stating one set of winning numbers and the phone system saying a different number. I know this to be true because I recorded the set of digits givin on the lotteries automated phone system and the website had one number different than that which they were saying on the phone. I called the lottery and mentioned this to them and they immediately changed the number on the website to match the one on the phone system. It was changed within 5 minutes from the time I told them about it. So someone made a mistake. I took a picure of the website and recorded the numbers givin on the the lotteries automated phone system before I called them to tell them.
So I have absolute proof to this day that the lottery does make mistakes. And do you think they told anyone about it, so what if you checked your numbers and thought you had a losing ticket yet after they changed the number to the right number its too late because you already threw away your ticket.
Just something you all should be aware of. Dont throw your tickets away too quickly!
So anyhow what ever happened to the women or transmission business in pheonox Arizona who got the duplicate tickets any updated info on that?
