Played through a bunch of lotto today, and overall got my ass kicked. I'm going to try the new Holiday tickets on Tuesday, but after that I'm going into lotto hibernation with the exception of maybe buying a few holiday raffle tickets.
The pictures below are my highest wins from today, but do not let them fool you. I'm definitely in the negative by several hundred bucks after playing through almost 3 books, and a bunch of random $25 Misfortune tickets (which absolutely wrecked my wallet). For anyone out there reading this considering playing scratch off tickets, this is what the ugly looks like. (Turning $600 into maybe $100 after playing through dozens of $20-$25 tickets)
Found some Holiday Gifts books in lower ranges. Found one book in the 55k range which I played through, and a book even in the 23k range in Miami. I also stopped by places which had books in the 97k, and 112k range.
Out of the two $10 Holiday Gift books I played through, I got "meh" results. Only a single $100 winner, so in the hole by quite a bit here...
This was a "one and done". I bought one to see what book number it was on (and didn't want to get in a lengthy battle trying to explain to the cashier what book numbers are because communicating with this cashier was already challenging.
I also played through a book and a half of Super Millions, and got a break even on the first book. The second book, however, was pretty bad. Books were 731k, and 721k. I also stopped by several places in Miami and discovered that the Super Millions books were in the low 600k range, or early 700k ranges (like 708k) and decided they weren't worth playing.
I cashed these winners in at Publix, and then made the mistake of buying their last 6 $25 Fortunes in a row. The book number was 423k. ALL SIX WERE LOSERS. At least one winner would have been nice, but $150 spent for a $0 return? That is a nasty sting. Purchasing 75 $2 tickets would have yielded a better return. I know that $25 Fortune is overdue for several $1m prizes, and likely a $10m prize and took a gamble. Overall, I'm done several hundred bucks from my weekend splurge. I'm going to try the new Holiday Millions tickets on Tuesday, and then I'm done playing aside from buying a few raffle tickets.
I bought my first few draw game tickets today, so maybe I might stick to buying $10-$20 worth of those every pay day instead of literally tossing money away with scratch off tickets. For anyone looking to quit scratchers, playing the $25 Fortune ticket is a great way to increase the desire to quit after encountering ridiculously long dud streaks like 6 losers in a row on a $25 game. Absolutely sickening.
