Mhm, casinos pay out better on average. I've never went, and I don't plan on going because I've heard the horror stories of people who get heavily addicted there.
The lottery has a bad payout overall, unless you're one of the super lucky to win a big prize. It is essentially pissing money away long-term if you don't win a big prize or jackpot. At least it supports education, although that's very controversial. Many states have cut educational funding in place and in anticipate of lottery contributions increasing. Also, who some of the scholarships this pool of money funds is controversial.
I benefited from the Florida Bright Futures scholarship, so I personally benefited from some of these contributions. In my line of work, I visit lots of different schools, some elite which cost $30k/yr just to attend K-12 school. The thought of alot of these students getting Bright Futures scholarships doesn't sit well with me. I feel like those scholarships should be exclusive to low-income and middle class, rather than simply merit. Then again, that's only a fraction of where the contributions goes to. I know that a good contribution of lotto funds does go to K-12 school systems, which is good.
On another note...
I was looking at the Fantasy 5 PDF of winners from 2009 to present, and I noticed there were several people who were repeat winners. I know Richard Lustig plays Fantasy 5 daily. It seems like the best odds of any draw game to win a life changing amount of money. Who else plays that game here? I've been doing quick picks, which I know Lustig advises against.
