Any logical reason why CA would have the most winners, Is there a different system used?

Lottoluck777, Ca. buys more tickets, so they have more winners. I do believe that but, I also think that it should not matter with a national game. I don't have any charts in front of me right now, but If you add up the total number of sales of other states that would add up to be more tickets sold than Ca.. So with that in mind, it should not matter how many tickets sold in Ca., Florida or New York. So, as it stands today it matters how many tickets sold in separate states and how many more wins they may get.

Maybe this will help... Scroll right to the 1/31/15 drawing. Look at California's total draw sales. It's 8 million dollars. Now see if you can find another state with that many $$ in ticket sales....

Maybe this will help... Scroll right to the 1/31/15 drawing. Look at California's total draw sales. It's 8 million dollars. Now see if you can find another state with that many $$ in ticket sales....

According to the chart, the top 4 states in draw sales for January 31st are as follows:

California with $8,000,814
New York with $5,984,236
Florida with $5,847,854
Pennsylvania with $4,665,122

Guess what is going to happen tomorrow.

California will sell the most tickets, followed by New York, etc.

The source of chart I posted is The Texas Lotto Report website. It'll be updated by Thursday. Take a look at it on Thursday and see if I'm wrong.

To me, it cant be more obvious. The opportunity to sell the most tickets exists in California simply because California is the most populated state in America.

From the lead story on the LP home page right now, Three tickets to split:

In addition to the big jackpot winners, 34 lucky players matched the first 5 numbers for a $1,000,000 prize:

North Carolina has a population of approximately 10 million people, making it the 9th largest state in the country. Bigger than Michigan or New Jersey.

Throw in the roughly 5 million people in South Carolina, and you're looking at a combined population of about 15 million, which is greater than all but 4 states in the entire country. California, Texas, Florida and New York.
