I don't know what kind of movement chart you are using. This is what I use. And this may not be the best part of the chart to show as an example. Right now there is a lot of wacky stuff happening......LOL
By that I mean you will normally see cascade movement (like waves) going back and forth.
When I play Pick 3 this is the chart I use. N1, N2, N3 is the results of the draw. Sum is the sum of the draw.
V1, V2, V3 shows the track where the draw fell. 1 being the mirrors 0&5; 2 is 1&6; 3 is 2&7; 4 is 3&8; and 5 is 4&9.
Next column is the Vsum. Vsum is the total V1+V2+V3. The best Vsum values that hit the most are between 6 and 12. I keep a chart of hits for those as well.
The next part of the chart, V105, V116, V127, etc...is the positional hits of each mirror pair, or how long the mirrors have been out. V1 is position 1, (first digit). 05 is the mirror set 0 and 5. V2 is the 2nd position, (second digit). The two numbers to the right are the mirrors. Same with V3, 3rd position (3rd digit) with the two numbers following V3 designating the mirrors.
I've drawn in red boxes to hopefully help you see the back and forth movement of the digits. (ignore the inclusion of V205 in the first box. Its a mistake on my part).
As you (hopefully) can see, the numbers are not jumping haphazardly across the board. They rock back and forth and cascade with an occasional hop. (Again this is not the best chart to explain it). Just follow the 0s for each position.
Any number besides 0 in those columns means neither of those mirrors have hit in that many drawings. The 16 in column V205 means there has not been a 0 or a 5 hit in the 2nd position in 16 draws. Knowing how long the mirrors have been out can help trap a draw. (Win D has some excellent info on what it means when a digit goes missing for 10 draws. Might want to read that too.)
Finally by following the 0s down the chart, you become aware of where the +1/-1 idea originated.
