  Probably. Powerball seems to have more of a name then Mega Millions does.

  I can't believe it took so long for somebody to start speculating.

  I figure one possibility is that people spent enough on MM that it won't get much past the initial 750, or 800.A roll would almost certainly still take it past a billion for next Wednesday.

  The other possibility is that MM's smallish increase was because even with less than half the money people sill like PB and played it instead  of or in addition to MM, and they'll spend a bunch for this drawing. The PB record sold about 440 million tickets to increase it from 528 to 948. The same sales now would increase it to about 1.15 billion by drawing time. If that happens a roll will almost certainly give us anew PB record for the annuity, and probably the cash value.

  Because people were chasing Mega Millions, they may not have the money now to chase the Powerball. So, it could roll again before it is won. So, next Wednesday it could be won, not this Saturday.
