I was checking my Ohio649P file and even though there are 325 entrants, record #321 - 08/13/03 04-13-23-28-44-46 +12 had never match 3 and the combination didn't look odd(small range, large sum, bunched up and etc). I thought with that many drawings almost all combinations of 3 had been drawn, yet this combination contained 20 combinations of threes that had never been drawn.
I set the parameters in my RNG to pick 20 combinations with normal sums and numbers in their normal postions with a few other limitations such as having never matched 3. It took awhile for the computer to finish the task, I doubt if I could have ever done it by hand. The combination 01-02-03-04-05-06 has matched 3 six times, and until 08/13/03 the combination that was drawn had not equal that.
I asked the questions 'Are there other similar combinations out there?','Can any normal looking combinaion go that long without matching 3 at least once?. I know it happened once, maybe it will happen again. I now have 20 such combinations and I will check the results with tonight's drawing.
